The idea that you and me can sit in our respective living rooms separated by the vast Atlantic Ocean having an instant conversation, me using a wireless device, and yet scientists don't have a handle on how old the earth is, is beyond stupidity in my opinion.
Why is that so difficult for you to understand that I don't hold science at fault for advancements in technology.

Just because we have computers doesn't mean the universe is billions of years old. You're mixing apples with oranges.

Don't lie. Can you state that you are 100% confident that science can prove beyond doubt the age of the universe? Even if science can prove that the age of the universe is 500 billion years old that doesn't prove it wasn't created, nor does that mean that the creation account is false. Just means you don't understand the meaning of Genesis 1:1&2.

Science can prove beyond 'reasonable' doubt the age of the universe, for sure, yes. The universe is around 14 billion years old, you are so way off it's embarrassing.

I just find it extraordinary that with all the technological advancements over the last 100 years you still don't think humanity has a handle on the age of the universe. 14 billion compared to a few thousand, the difference is an extraordinary number. It's like me thinking the length of the U.S. is what it is and you thinking it's only 8m across.

You mean it has proven it to you! That does not make it true, it only means
    you are a true believer.

It means I accept the overwhelming evidence gathered from centuries of scientific endeavour.

The universe itself, if it is thousands of years old all the (evidence) that
people are using to say otherwise are just getting it wrong. I maintain, and
you should know this, since I've been saying the same thing here for years,
that the distant past is always going to be a matter of faith for everyone.

No one was here, and if it was started by a divine action, no amount of
looking at it would ever be able to show us how old it is.

I have used this in the past, the example of a car travelling down the
highway, so we clock its speed at 80mph, that show us its current speed,
what it does not do is tell us where it was an hour ago.

I do not know how old it is, and I don't believe anyone else does either.

The evidence is going to be the same no matter who is right, someone is
just going to be wrong on the way they look at it. The difference between you
and me, I don't claim to know how old it is. For me it is a matter of faith,
you are the one that is claiming to have all the right answers. Which makes
you the only one between us, that can be wrong about it.
