I am only interested in evidence.

In fact, you raised seven issues which clearly cause you concern. Do you share my stance on any of them? I'm interested to hear.

your statement was, 'ridicule (unspecified) is not harmful', clearly this is untrue based on evidence, for even where i live there have been instances where young persons have taken their own life because of persistent ridicule and only recently in the UK , a nurse took her own life because of ridicule.
Where is your evidence to the contrary?

Originally posted by robbie carrobieWhat I wrote was Ridicule is not "harm". In and of itself, it is not. If someone is bullied to death, then that death is "harm". Your first post on this thread was "wow, why dont you sport a leotard, paint yourself gold, put on a set of angel wings, tone up your muscles and join a gay parade to celebrate?" Do these words of ridicule constitute "harm"? No, of course they don't.

So do you agree with me when I say that parents should be able to send their child to a different school if they want to and for their own reasons. If they are ridiculed by somebody, somewhere for doing so, that's life?

If you still have head pains and respiratory or throat problems a WEEK after being around chemicals then you may have a relatively serious problem. In fact, when I saw you adding little irrelevant 'chatty' bits to your original post, what came to mind was stellspalfie's reference to telltale "glibness/superficial charm" earlier on this thread. If you are feeling unwell for the reasons you have stated, you should perhaps get treatment as soon as possible.

Originally posted by FMFI will if its not lifted after a few days, problem was that the property had Artex ( a kind of eighties decorative form like plaster but stippled) which at one time used to contain asbestos. I dont think this was the case here but you never know. Anyway, I am sorry to bore you with these details and if you found them glib, then what can i say, i am a friendly guy.

'thats life', is not evidence, is it. Persistent ridicule is harmful.
"Persistent ridicule is harmful". I am sure it can be. I am sure there are many who just ignore it. I am against bullying. Do you share this stance?

If you want to see what stellspalfie was referring to you should go back and take a look at what he said.
