    Who knows. Millions or tens of millions?
    I will have to agree with you on this.

    But also it is the persons fault for having sex with out protection and outside of marriage, so it is their own fault if they get Aids.

    What about the people who got Aids within marriage - is that their own fault too?

    In these days of corporate sponsorship, I'm betting on Cardinal Sicola to succeed him.

    What a Christian approach. You must be proud of yourself.

    I disagree.

    I think rather than praising a person to their hilt on their death and then waiting for reality to sink in later, a realistic eulogy is one that shows a person's true greatness and their true failings. I am happy to admit that the Pope did some great things, but his great peacemaking moves were tempered by his archaic views on morality.

    The Pope was 'just a man' and all men have failings. This revelation should upset nobody.

    It still is rather customary to let a man be burried , sort of a moratorium.

    No man is an Iland, intire of itselfe; every man
    is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine;
    if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe
    is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as
    well as if a Manor of thy friends or of thine
    owne were; any mans death diminishes me,
    because I am involved in Mankinde;
    And therefore never send to know for whom
    the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.
    ......John Donne,,,,

    The Pope's views on morality were nothing new - he just reiterated what's been part of the infallible doctrine of the Church for centuries. No Pope - past, present or future - can or will change those teachings.
