Seems to me that you dont have the right attitude. You appear to be searching for loopholes in the Bible which would allow you to sin. That is the approach which will not go down well with Christ .. if you are interested in that. If you are not then just continue on as you are.

No, just trying to obtain a solid answer in what the Bible says.

If it's like you suggested earlier, that we TRY to do the best we can, then that's reasonable. And when we 'slip up', Jesus will understand, as long we give it our best.

Important to differentiate here between the man who thinks 'hey, i can sin a little safe in the knowledge that Jesus will forgive me,' and the man who strives to lead a good life but occasionally falls short. - Biblically (not personally) speaking, I don't believe Jesus will view the two the same.

I agree, one wants it both ways, while the other is striving to serve the Lord. We each know
that we are, which is why we need to Lord.

If you do have the right attitude and you are interested in what Jesus said about sin, my suggestion to you is to spend some time reading what Jesus said for yourself. Its not much reading. That alone is proof that you do have the right attitude and that you are in fact trying to understand. Otherwise hanging around these forums alone and arguing is a waste of time

Two other posters here [both of which are pretty perceptive] seem to think that your attitude needs some adjustment. Sometimes you cannot see it.

Oh .. and if you are interested in what Jesus said and in actually doing what he said then I suggest you keep away from the likes of sonship, josephw, and those types who say that you have nothing to do .. just say you believe. Keep away from people and churches that talk like that. Its the road to damnation.

It is YOU who seeks controversy Dive. I hope you don't resort back to 'old Dive', he was an a-hole. Enough with your Christian, non Christian 'merciless routine'. K?

Sounds to me like you're still posting while drunk.

Nope, try again.

As a matter of fact, Dive accused me of seeking loopholes, but consider this:

Either Dive is completely ignorant of how 'not' to be a weak Christian.....OR, he knows exactly what he should do, but chooses 'not' to. Why?

Because he is relying on the mercy and forgiveness of Jesus. Dive and loophole.

You said previous sir that you are not judging Dive for saying he was a weak Christian, but you do appear to be carrying it around like a stick to beat him with.

Do you think Dive is ignorant?
Or do you think Dive is choosing to be weak, counting on mercy and forgiveness?

This question is not for Dive exclusively, of course, but for everyone.

If people know what to do, why are they not doing it?
