I've read a lot of it. (As have most atheists who engage in debate)
Often know more than most Christians.

How many other religious texts have you read?
Or did you just stop at one?

I've read the Christian Bible (in several translations), Veritatis Splendour (Encyclical of Pope John Paul II), The Book of Mormon, The Bhagavad Gita, The Upanishads, The Dead Sea Scrolls, the Nag Hamadi Library (in translation, naturally), bits of the Koran, quite a lot of Buddhist texts (both ancient and modern commentary), Hesiod and Theognis, various Gnostic and Hermetic texts, ...

none of which persuaded me that one of them is The True Religion ...

and, of course, Christopher Hitchens's The Portable Atheist, a compendium of articles from Lucretius to modern times.

So did Hitler, and Stalin, and Marx, and Freud.

What is interesting about Darwin was his understanding of the simple cell, which he thought was simple. We have learned since Darwin that a simple cell is more complex than the universe.

Also in point was Darwin's racism and how he perceived that the white race was superior to all others and would eventually dominate the whole world. Marx, Stalin, Freud and Hitler were heavily influenced by Darwin's theories. And untold millions more. Serious answer.

And, of course, Hitler, Stalin, Marx, and Freud, never picked up the Bible.

Do you think that invalidates the theory of evolution? If so, I would point out that Torquemada read the Bible.

Still reading. Still thinking. So much more to learn in and about life.

Genesis 1 invalidates evolution.

Evolution is a delusion.

They never believed the Bible. Too costly. It would interfere with life as they perceived it to be. And look at what they did and the millions that died because of it.

The available evidence is not in agreement with that proposition.

It depends on how you define 'evolution'. Evidence for microevolution does not necessarily support macroevolution.
