Considering it was the crashing of continental plates that forced up the mountains millions of years ago, so naturally there would be ocean deposits there.

that's true...the interesting point is that Everest having seashells causes more problems for the bible than it solves. Most of these nutters think that mt Ararat was Noahs landing point. Now if Everest was getting shells..that makes Ararat under 10,000ft of water.
