It looks like the Ring from the Lord of the Rings.

Actually the halo, or nimbus, has definitive pre-Christian
origins. It is found on coins and mosaics on the heads of
gods like Apollo (ostensibly the god of the sun, although
Helios is the guy who rides the chariot), as well as other
important gods like Jupiter and Neptune.

I don't think RB thought it was a Christian image, rather he was asking if that is what was implied in the previous post. Perhaps you should have addressed your last post to the person who made the implication, rather than the newest Christian to earn your spite.

Only Saved people go to Heaven. Not all religions or as a matter of fact no relgions lead to God. Jesus is that only way. John 14:6; Acts 4:12.

And I believe tath the Christians will not get halo's they will be like Christ, without sin.

If he didn't think it was a Christian image, why would he draw
the conclusion (even if 'tongue-in-cheek'😉 that the designer of
    the icon was favoring Christianity?

Also, where in my post do you see an attack? I was providing
factual information about the history of the halo. I don't see how
my post was spiteful, but I certainly see how your post is.

You presented it as if RBHILL was a moron. And he stated his conclusion earlier where he asked why it looked like it was from Lord of the Rings. His post was in reference to the previous poster's conclusion.

I guess it's just coincidental that you very rarely disagree with the agnostics and atheists.

How would you have presented this information? How do I indicate
that RBHILL is a moron? Yes, his post was in reference to the
    previous poster's statement which read:

'Check your head... it could be your halo.'

No mention of Christianity there, right?

    RB's response:

'Oh, so your saying whoever put this Forum up is in support of Christianity?'

I simply pointed out that the halo is not a Christian creation. I fail
to see how this makes RBHILL a moron. Would you care to show me
how I could have presented this information differently?

I guess it's just coincidental that you very rarely disagree with the agnostics and atheists.

Ask rwingett, our resident atheist, if I disgree with him. PM him right
now and ask how many times he and I have seen eye-to-eye on
    issues of faith.

Your anger towards me is out of control. It is coloring your perception
of innocent posts. You are lashing out at me in unChristian anger.

Weak atheist, to be precise. He doesn't like to be confused with the Strong or the Meek.

I think each species of Atheism merits its own forum. That way, discussions of Weak Atheism won't get "clogged up" with ideas of Strong Atheism.

I read the scriptures, and the word 'saved' is not to be found... it only asks we believe in him.

Have you confessed publically that Jesus is your Lord and do you believe in your heart that He rose from the dead?

If so, congratulations, you are saved.

Since virtually all knowledgable atheists are "weak" atheists, the term is superfluous. So called "strong" atheists are largely strawmen created by the theists in a vain attempt to shift themselves out from under the burden of proof. The term "atheist" should be taken to be synonymous with "weak atheism".
