The only interpretations of the Christian Faith I accept as true and genuine are the Roman-Catholic Churche's interpretations.
That which you claim to accept as the only true and genuine sort of Christianity has been a historically morphing entity.
And your quoting of the word Church when refering to another denomination is precious.

Thank you dear Doctor ..... you're too kind .....
.... but I quoted the word "Church" in connection with the context of the post I was reacting too .... I did NOT quote the term because it was another denomination.
My opinion is that if a Church uses fear to "promote" (yes, again quotes) the Christian Faith it doesn't deserve the title Church anymore, hence "Church".
You see, Dear Doctor, how reality can change dramatically if you choose the correct perspective ..... 🙂
How is your sabbatical going, dear Doctor ?

The "Church" you are talking about couldn't possibly be a Roman-Catholic Church.

Has anyone been following the story of Sandra Beth Geisel who was a teacher at a prestigious upstate New York Catholic school? Apparently she had some interpretations of "educational models" that left a lasting impression on her students.
I must admit that this "morphing" is an improvement over angry nuns beating kids with rulers.

I have made a brief return for some Spiritual renewal, but I will be taking my leave again in a couple weeks for my investigation into the origins of species.

Sunday school in the mornings, sermon in the afternoon, prayer meetings on Wednesday nights, vacation bible school during the summer (for a whole week) and revivals were held "as needed". Which was often....
That's a lotta churching.

Also, one would have to distinguish between substantial and peripheral changes when talking of an entity morphing across time.

Well I don't know if I'm pissed off at it, but yes, I had certainly had enough by the time I was 16.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. 🙂
