If we approach it scientifically, then we can get as close to knowing as is reasonably possible. We are more likely to get it right than if we just put our faith in what we want to be true, rather than what the evidence points to.

I think a good place to start is with these people who have the near death
or after death experiences or whatever the correct term is for it. It seems
no one is yet sure what is going on there. It may be beyond the ability of
science to determine. If so, then they usually say it is not science because
they don't know how to test it. Maybe one day it will be able to be tested
and then become part of science.
