Now that we know that Adam and Eve never were real people the central myth of Christianity is destroyed. If there never was an Adam and Eve there never was an original sin. If there never was an original sin there is no need of salvation. If there is no need of salvation there is no need of a saviour. And I submit that puts Jesus, historical or otherwise, into the ranks of the unemployed. I think that evolution is absolutely the death knell of Christianity.’

We see, therefore, that evolution is foundational/necessary for their faith that there is no Creator and that everything made itself (i.e. evolution). So, that is why atheists are at the forefront in promoting the public acceptance of evolution—it promotes their atheistic faith. They recognise that if they can persuade the general population to accept evolution as ‘fact’, it will be the death of (real) Christianity.

You going to credit Don Batten (creational agricultural scientist) with those words or are you going to pretend they're your own?

yeh, proof that a belief system (or lack of one) doesn't make a person intelligent or stupid.

saying that adam and eve are the central point of christianity is like saying not eating pork is the central point of islam.

    it's idiotic

that moron is wrong and you are wrong if you believe evolution is a conspiracy from the atheists part to destroy christianity (or any religion for that matter). do you think evolutionists gather in some dark dungeon and plot new ways to destroy your way of life?

Though Evolution Theory may be a damage to the Christian faith it is only a nuisance. It is not a death blow.

The reason for this is that the New Testament only requires that a person believe into Christ. Once a person believes into Christ that person can be redeemed eternally, regenerated, and born again. It is not required that they believe in Adam and Eve.

Let me state this again. MANY people have come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ simply through believing that He rose from the dead and is available to be known today.

Did Paul insist that you believe in "original sin" ? Granted, not understanding that there was a FIRST man and a FIRST women does pose some significant problems of Christian theology. But belief in Adam and Eve was never a requirement to be saved.

You believe in Christ the Son of God. You receive Him. You are saved. Once you are saved, the Holy Spirit can begin to grow, expand, permeate, and fill your heart. It helps to be clear about the book of Romans, certainly. But to become a Christian all that is required :

" ... if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart there is believing unto righteousness, and with the mouth there is confession unto salvation.

For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on Him shall not be put to shame." (Romans 10:9-11)

Did you see anything there about "you must believe in Adam and Eve?"

Did you see anything there about "you are required to believe in six 24 days of creation ?"

Did you EVEN see anything saying "you must believe the doctrine of original sin?"

Evolution may be a nuisance to Christian theology. It is not a death knell.

Caveat: Of course ATHEISM is a total rejection of all of the Bible's revelation including the Gospel of Christ. If what one means by Evolution is Atheism, then yes, there is NO compatibility at all.

Atheism/Agnosticism is simply the lack of belief in ANY religion/deity.

Calling atheism the rejection of Christianity is like calling veganism
    a rejection of eating pork.

If what you mean by evolution is atheism then you are wrong and you don't
    understand what the terms mean.

Words have meanings that are established and can be looked up.
If you chose to arbitrarily change the meaning of those words they loose all
    value.

A parable about building a house on shifting sands comes to mind.

Evolution by natural selection is a scientific theory that explains the diversity
of life on earth. It says nothing about the existence or otherwise of god.

Atheism/agnosticism is a lack of religious belief. It is not a religion in of itself,
those who wear those labels have no prerequisite common ground other than
a lack of belief in god or gods. (and often the supernatural in general)

While atheists will typically believe that scientific enquiry and reason are the best
way of exploring and understanding the world and understand that evolution is
true, not all atheists will believe that.
And not all people who believe in evolution are atheists, or non Christian theists.

You didn't make one, and I can't see much point in discussing the one Don Batten made with you.

It had to start somewhere. All men marry their sister, a few thousand
    times removed.
