God loves Homosexuals, but it's their lifestyle that God abhors. Sodom and Gomorah was a prime example of how God views that type of lifestyle. If there are Christians who mistreat Homosexuals then they are not in the Will of God. Christians should love their neighbor like themselves, gays included. Gays can become straight by Faith and obeying God's laws ...[text shortened]... t they are not.
In the end, it will only be God who judges who are true believers or not.
As for your "people can choose to be gay or straight" comment, well, it's obviously rubbish. Could you "choose" to be gay? I'm pretty sure I couldn't make that decision. I could choose to have homosexual sex, but that has nothing to do with ones sexual orientation.
2) You can't pick and choose the bits of science that you like - the truth doesn't work that way.
In the end, it will only be God who judges who are true believers or not.
Only if he exists.

The worst thing IMO is that some people call themselves Christians when they do not even follow the teachings of Christ.
But, this isn't "The worst thing about Christians," (they aren't Christians IMO) it's one of the worst things about men in general.
One of he worst things about Christians is the history of the movement itself. The wars and slaughter in the name of God. The lies and BS shoved down the throats of the naive. The brainwashing and mindcontrol that many "Christian" leaders preach. The screamers! The fingerpointers! The ultra-phony pious men in costume who claim to represent Christ and His teachings here on Earth.
The false Profets.

If it had been washed down a stream or carried by a glacier for instance, the strata around it would have mixed results in age, say 100,000 year old stuff mixed with 70 million year old stuff and maybe throw off the calcs but mostly there is no such mixing. Dating has been fully established. You may choose not to believe it but that is your problem not mine. So when you look at thousands of bones you see them coming from differant ages, say a chicken sized dinosaur with certain toe shapes then something twice the size but having the same toe shape you can make a good argument the latter evolved from the former. One thing that puzzles me about the creation of the universe is this: What possible differance would it make if it was found to be 14 billion years old as we suspect but science doesn't have much evidence of what went on 'before' so it could be construed by christians that god blew his breath into a tube of god-stuff that blew up into the exact universe we see today. Christians still get to believe god created the universe so what's the problem with that scenerio? That would let christians and scientists on the same side of the bench, not continually fighting over issues like evolution. If god was the one doing the big bang, why can't you accept the earth for what we can measure, why do you have to force your pre-concieved notions about it?
What exactly is this "solid evidence" you're talking about?
To all others: I'm going to do what Varga suggested and only debate sonhouse. I will ignore all other posts.

The worst thing about him was laying down his life to be a living sacrifice for our sins. What a creep!!!!
don't like how they put so much emphasis on jesus only... afterall, jesus wasnt a christian, he was a bad jew.
Originally posted by BigDoggProblemThat is the worst thing about us christians. People attach stereotypes to us, and instead of trying to follow the Word, we tend to allow the stereotypes to control us.
Hilarious. Out of all the groups in the 'worst thing' threads, the Christians are the only ones proud of their negative stereotypes.
A baptist church protests a soldiers funeral under the pretense of "God hates fags" and all of the christians are blamed. What do we do? We say "shame" and let it slide.
A man claiming to be christian (Christ-like) bombs an abortion clinic and it gets stapled to every christian's spiritual resume. What do we do? Nothing...
We are christians who don't act as christians. Thats our problem

Their arrogant need to force others to do what they think is "moral" via legislation.
