To respect someone’s free will would be demonstrated by respecting their decision to exercise their free will and that is demonstrated by respecting the choice and the outcome.
There is no evidence in genesis to support your claim that God respected Adam’s free will to choose.
I wrote in response the following.
You too are offering variations on the "Let's blame God" philosophy .
I think your interpretation is delusional and desperate.
I see no reason to apologise for this being to me more "Its is God's fault."
I think you should congradulate me for accurately understanding your thoughts.
God warned Adam.
Adam disobeyed.
God respected his choice to do so.
"And to Adam He said, Because you listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree concerning which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it;
Cursed is the ground because of you;
In toil will you eat of it all the days of your life.
And thorns and thistles will it bring forth for you,
And you will eat the herb of the field;
By the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground,
Because from it you were taken; For dust you are, and to dust you shall return." (Gen. 3:17-19)
Where in any of that is disrespect for Adam choosing to disobey rather than obey God?
I see no reason to apologise for telling you.

@sonship saidSo whereas Muslims, Hindus and so forth go about doing grievous acts without a second thought, good old Christians never hurt a fly, right? Dear me, read some history books. If I were looking for a 'true moral oughtness and ought not - ness', the Christian worldview is about the last place I'd look. Consider the Catholic Church.
@FMF
I don't believe in your God figure or the ideology surrounding it, . . .
I don't believe that your world without God has any real ground of absolute objective moral standard at all.
I think you have to steal from a Christian worldview to account for true moral oughtness and ought not-ness.
@indonesia-phil saidThere are Christians, and there are those that call themselves Christian. When the final chapter is written history will prove your assertion false.

@josephw saidSo, all of those millions who have been tortured, burned alive, enslaved for life and massacred in the name of your righteous god need not have worried, it was pretend Christians that did all of that, and it was all false history. Silly old them for worrying, eh?

@indonesia-phil saidThis was not the Church, per se, but the free will of evil men. As Christians, we are cautioned to have discernment, lest we be set upon by ravening wolves in sheeps clothing. Free will demands that we choose to follow evil or good, and many have not bothered to show the proper discernment that we've been cautioned to have. Let's start with the Crusades and follow through all the way to the Inquisition.

IF you had the absolute assurance today that there was nothing undone by God to prevent sin and death from entering into the world, would you then open you heart to turn your life over to the Lord Jesus ?
@sonship saidWhat "absolute assurance? You mean people like you and KellyJay and josephw telling me stuff about an ancient mythology that you firmly believe should absolutely assure me?
