@KellyJay saidThis is why resolving religious differences is so difficult.
The truth does not come in flavors yours, mine, and theirs. If something is true it is true for everyone at all times, and everywhere. If not nothing is, it all degrades into personal opinions, and might makes right!
When one side takes an absolutist stand, there is no room left for anything else.
This is why peoples end up fighting instead of evolving to work things out.
Absolutism is not God's will, yet you think it's right, and so MUST be God's will because you hold your own truth to be self-evident, and then turn around and decide someone else is subhuman for working within their truth. This is called making your will into God's will. This is why there can be no peace in the Middle East. Peace will only come once both sides recognize the other side's truth and work within it to come to compromise. This "my way or the highway, because my way is God's way" doesn't do anyone any favors.
@KellyJay saidWow, way to take 10% of my argument, which actually sets up my point, and is not the entire point, and argue against that, and leave my actual point behind.
I don’t care about those who only go to church; that does not make one a Christian, that only makes one who goes to church. If someone thinks they are what God wants them to be, regardless of how they behave, and they feel better about themselves by comparing themselves to others, they are prideful and unrepentant.
Even going to an AA meeting, you have to admit that your ...[text shortened]... nothing will change.
As far as preverting God’s will is concerned, how do you know what that is?
This is a bad, although common, debate tactic.
@Suzianne saidThe thing about truth, it is or it is not, to deviate from it is always moving into error.

@KellyJay saidBut if you ignore the meanings of words, how do you even know what you are arguing about? But some people don't argue specifics, they tend to argue the meta idea without understanding the underpinnings. Truth does not lie in that direction.
Pointing to the truth is important, if you don’t take the Word seriously you will than make it up any ay you like!
@KellyJay saidI'm not going to get down in the trenches with you and argue semantics.
So be clear about how I am in error.
This is exactly how understanding is abandoned. Points are lost. This helps those who simply naysay instead of discussing.
@KellyJay saidSpoken like one who believes they hold God's will. Anything not supporting their will is "against God", and then no progress is possible.

@KellyJay saidThere is so much wrong with this, I can't even begin.

I can't even believe this is a response to what I wrote.
@KellyJay saidI was speaking of words! Not the Word! Stop making my point in an argument a different argument using your point. This is despicable and not honest at all.
Where do you see me saying that? I am saying if are not lining up with the Word we are in error. and if I am in error you may correct me with it!
You should try to respond to MY words, not something you make up.
This is misrepresentation. Regard what I said earlier. You cause my point to be lost and now I'm in the dirt with you arguing over words, instead of their meaning.
I'd rather you didn't respond to me at all over misrepresenting me.
If this is the way you decide to conduct this, I'm out.
Don't bother responding at all if this is the way you're going to be. I'm out the door to church. Time to stop arguing with the unclean and commune with God. I'll already have to apologize to him for this conversation so far.

@Suzianne saidYou have been out after every post you’ve typed here. It’s funny how you do everything you complain about x 10
