Doesn't anybody else get tired of arguing about the same old crap? Jesus Christ. Let's have some ideas for new and interesting topics.
Originally posted by rwingettI tried to start an interesting discussion regarding whether Mary's Immaculate Conception (a theory in which God intervened to render her sinless) precluded her having free will, vis a vis the tree of knowledge in the Garden being necessary for Adam and Eve to have free will. This would be a very interesting discussion, regarding a new aspect of free will that hasn't previously been discussed. Alas, nobody else gave a rat's ass, so I think we need to look to something besides free will to remedy our lack of interesting topics.
Lets start another thread about free will.

Originally posted by aspviper666I would be very interested in this topic. I have come across similar discussions in various readings I have done about the Turin shroud.
how about?
jesus nailed
the number of nails used(good to argue about as there is no real proof)
and was he nailed in the palms or in the wrist
as a meat cutter i know well that its though the carpus
a nail though the palm will hardly support the weight of a severed arm
let alone the whole carcuss i mean body
(EDIT) i have been told about the severed arm by a friend
its not from personal experience

The nature of the Turin shroud would be a good topic as well.
Originally posted by KellyJayI have an idea. We all know each others point of view by now. We know who believes in God and who doesn't. Could we start a thread, where everyone has to switch roles? If you believe, you must argue against God, and if you don't believe you must argue for the existence of God.
Does anything matter?

Song of Solomon 5:10
"My lover is dark and dazzling, better than ten thousand others!"
Is this verse literally true? If so, mustn't this woman have been with over ten thousand men in order to have a valid basis for this comparison?
I'm not questioning the literal truth of the first clause, for it is well known that a single brotha mak ...[text shortened]... r than ten thousand Jews. I'm questioning only this woman's basis for the literal comparison.
