Well it's for sure Lutheranism started one of the worse religous wars in history, the 100 year war. Now things may have been not as clear cut as that in the 1600's but inter-religious wars started within a year of Martin Luther tacking up his post.

I'm funny sometimes and I went to a Lutheran school for 8 years so I know a bit about them. They are Catholics who can read.

My understand is that Lutherans didn't start any wars--the Catholics kinda did that when the Lutherans dared to read the Bible and encouraged others to do the same, rather than have it spoonfed to them by a priest.

Luther did support a whole deal of prejudice and violence so I wouldn't be so sure about that.

That is the standard Protestant historiography.

Support is far different from executing. Luther didn't kill anybody for being a non-Lutheran. He may have WANTED to, but hey--I want to kill somebody every day. It ain't the same as real killing, which the Catholics did in abundance,

Standard Protestant historiography again. Do you forget that the Protestants started the war?

How? By pointing out deceit among the Catholic Church fathers?

So it's ok that he incited the murder of many?

As long as Luther himself didn't get his hands dirty, then he's alright with you. Hey, Hitler himself never killed a Jew either.

Nor do the leaders of the KKK. They just get the common folks thinking its ok to kill the 'enemy' of the month. So you think the KKK leader who does that and his followers kill, the leader has no blame?
I was aiming that at PF.
