Good God, man: don't let FMF hear you utter such blasphemous sewage!
You're supposed to be one of the atheists who offer the voice of reason...

I have my answer; looking for yours.
It is part of my nature to value happiness and peace and shun misery and suffering, both for myself and others of my kind. We can see it in the way gore and pain cause involuntary physical reactions in observers. They may become nauseous, cringe, look away, etc. Even on this fundamental level, we are hardwired for empathy.

But - to cut to the chase - I am sure you would still have cared for your children and provided for them as best you could, even if you had lost your faith while they were growing up. And that's because the real reasons you parent are the same as the vast majority of human parents, whether theist or skeptic.

I suspect that, if you are anything like me, this question will stick with you for awhile... and, I hope, support you to remember all that you have for which you can/should give Thanks/be grateful.

So I'll leave it at that...

Please rephrase in the form of a coherent question.

Nature, eh?

So what do you make of those whose nature compels them to rape, torture and kill others?
Of those to whom gore and pain are the only stimulus?
Of those who are seemingly not hardwired for empathy?

I wouldn't do anything (at this point of the game) that God commanded me to do outside of His written word.

Nature isn't perfect. Also, some of us do those things despite the built in empathy. We reinforce our values by using force to stop them and/or restrain them, once they have proved capable of such acts.

Then what is a person supposed to trust, exactly?
