"And the Lord spake to Moses face to face, as a man speaketh to his friend.
Ex 33:11
No man hath seen God at any time.
John 1:18
Oh dear Oh dear..Does anyone still want to argue that the bible contains no contradictions because I'd be happy to oblige.
Originally posted by Sicilian SmaugThis is all the same story told from three different authors with varying amounts of detail. I can't quite get the contradiction here.
And just one more before i go..
Jesus' last words
Matt.27:46,50: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?" that is to say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus, when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."
Luke23:46: "And when Jesus had cried with a loud ...[text shortened]... ceived the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."
Originally posted by Sicilian SmaugYou are missing the context here altogether...In Isa 14:21 the context is Lucifer...🙂
The sins of the father
ISA 14:21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
DEU 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death f ...[text shortened]... But there appeared to be quite a long list.. Seems like a contradiction to me..doesnt it to you?
Originally posted by Sicilian SmaugHere, you do not seem to understand that the 4 gospels compliment each other. Some add events that others omit...but this is hardly a contrdiction....🙂

Originally posted by Sicilian SmaugHere you simply do not understand who these people were...Try reading Genesis 6........🙂
"I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not, but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling."
Jer 13:14
How about this ??? God is supposed to have said this.. If Christians read this kind of aggressive nasty violence then im not very tempted to become a Christian.
Originally posted by Sicilian SmaugFigure of speech, of which there are many...God does not have a face, He is Spirit....what is implied by this figure is that Moses spoke to Him as a friend would speak face to face.....

What you are doing is picking at the bible, not knowing what you are doing, as you admitted earlier.
Some of these things are difficult to explain to someone who has no biblical knowledge....It's like, "Why are there high pressure and low pressure lines in my A/C?"...you would need a basic course on refrigeration..... 🙂

Perhaps you should give it an honest look, before you bash it.....😉
(It's a rhetorical question. Please spare the unfounded speculation.)
I suspect that if you gave it an honest look (i.e. with your rose-colored, Johnny Cochrane glasses off), you'd be able to answer the above rhetorical question correctly.

It's a good thing the omnimax god has great defenders like William Lane Craig, Lee Strobel, and "Master" Checkbaiter on his side to explain away every bit of damning evidence. Without these "Johnny Cochranes for Christ," I doubt God would even believe in God.
actually, as chance would have it, i am reading a point/counterpoint debate between WL Craig and Walter Sinnott-Armstrong right now. Craig claims to have not 1, not 2, not 3...but 5, count them, 5, reasons why God exists. i'll let you know if he manages to convert me back to xtianity.
