I advocate for the gospel preached by Jesus during His ministry.

You advocate for the gospel according to those other than Jesus.

Never the twain shall meet.

Many men and women are mentioned BY NAME in the New Testament.

Who was put forth as an example of a true disciple of Jesus ?

1 John 3:4 -9:
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Of all the men and women mentioned in the New Testament - WHO was an example of a true disciple of Jesus ?

Why do you want someones name. Many thousands and thousands who heard Jesus peach and followed and kept his teachings are his true disciples. All of the 12, then the 70 and many hundreds more sent out to preach. Their names are written in the book of life. They are true disciples. They preached the teachings of Christ, they are true disciples. You do not preach the teachings of Christ, and you are not a true disciple of Christ.

Anything to avoid accepting the words spoken by Jesus. For many Christians the prospect of getting the "free gift" renders them deaf and blind. Though most refuse to admit it, they pick and choose the verses and passages that support their beliefs and dismiss those that don't and often do so in a most disingenuous manner.

Exactly ..the man wants a name. He can start with the 12 disciples.

You believe every word in the Bible is scripture or just the one's you quote?

So Thomas, one of the twelve, was a true disciple of Christ then ?

Why don't you believe his witness then but substitute your own opinion?

"Thomas answered and said to Him [Jesus], My Lord and my God!

Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, you believed, blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." (John 20:28,29)

Or are you furiously inventing ways to refute both Thomas, and John and Jesus Himself here in favor of your own opinion about who Jesus is ?

ToO,

So John (one of the twelve) was a true disciple then?

Then why don't you accept his witness that the Word was God (John 1:1) ?

Or do you substitute your own opinion about who walked the earth with John?

C'mon jaywill. You keep talking around Jesus' words that I quoted on page 8.

Do you think that if you avoid addressing those words, then they don't exist?

Actually address those words jaywill.

C'mon ThinkOfONe, you can't avoid being on the defensive all the time.
You can't run away by insisting the ball is always in the other guy's court.

And the ones that don't fall into this nifty category, you have other tricks for, no doubt.

The "free gift" seems free from our side as believers. Actually it was obtained at a great cost.

" ... much more the grace of God and the free gift in grace of the one man Jesus Christ have abounded to the many." (Rom. 5:15b)

Thanks for at least referring to a biblical term - "the free gift" .
Yet from God's side nothing there was "free".

You continue keep talking around Jesus' words that I quoted on page 8.

For that matter you continue keep talking around Jesus' words that I quoted on page 7 as well.

That's a lie KJ. You're shameless.

I address on-topic points and questions as much as anyone on this forum.

On the other hand, you and jaywill both routinely avoid addressing on-topic points and questions.
