Those life forms would not exist if there was no light and heat to sustain life on earth. Without light this planet would be a cold lifeless rock. Nothing living would live here without light.

So you must be talking about light more generally - what wave-lengths are you considering?

And we (ie humankind) does not know that life is not possible without light.

And the sun is not the only source of heat.
