It is a rather profound question. After all, the very first words in the Bible are, "And God said, let there be light".

As I have pointed out, light makes up a tiny percentage of the electromagnetic spectrum, yet why does it seem to be so important Biblically?

The fans of darkness are welcome to live behind the baseboards with the cockroaches. But the rest of us kind of appreciate being able to see what's going on around us.
