@ghost-of-a-duke saidLike I said, you painted yourself into a corner backing up FMF’s ridiculous lie and you’re not smart enough to figure a way out.
You don't seem to like the answer I've given, but it's a perfectly valid answer. Here it is again:
I have answered that question. You created a sick childlike narrative involving Dive and paedophilia that you repeated over and over again in numerous thread. Why did the site permit it? Perhaps posts were not alerted. Who knows.
And when it comes to lack of integrity, you can't even acknowledge your are Romans1009. Comedy gold.
Your paraphrasing and word games aren’t going to get your integrity out of the toilet.
Admitting FMF was lying and that you were wrong to say he wasn’t is the only way out.
But I hardly expect you to take it.
That Roman guy is living rent free in your head and outsmarting you in debates - in absentia! 😂
@pb1022 saidBut he wasn't lying. You, Romans1009, did exactly what he said.

It was truly disturbing to read.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidProbably to protect his disciples.
Or you the word 'secret.'
I think it's pretty clear that Jesus had his reasons for telling a small white lie, due to the risk involved in attending the feast etc.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidYeah. In “secret” means He didn’t tell anyone He was going.

That’s not a lie.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidSo you’re now claiming this website tolerated “hundreds and hundreds” of comments “ad nauseam” for months about adults having sex with a child?
But he wasn't lying. You, Romans1009, did exactly what he said.
It was truly disturbing to read.
You’re a pathetic and shameless liar, Ghost.
I didn’t used to think that, but I do now. And so does everyone else who looks objectively at what you’re claiming.
I just can’t believe how cheaply you sold your integrity.
That Roman guy must have really gotten under your skin. Four years later and he’s got you self-destructing - and he’s not even here!
You oughta take the tack dive’s taken and just avoid talking about him. This obsession of yours isn’t going well for you.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidThere was no lie.
Exactly. I didn't say the lie wasn't justified.
You, on the other hand, are another story.
@ghost-of-a-duke said“Hey Dave, you wanna go to the pub?”
Exactly. I didn't say the lie wasn't justified.
“Not yet.”
<<Dave shows up at the pub later>>
Ghost: Dave was lying!
You have no idea where he was for those unrecorded years. He could have been taking regular trips to different towns, getting blind drunk and serial killing prostitutes for all you know. Did you ever take a little time to think about that?
I think your hypothetical is possibly a projection. Perhaps you know how easy it is to live this way and assume Christ is pretty much like you.
Now that is not meant to be an insult. It is a realistic possibility of why you would think to assume that for Jesus.
When He did start His public ministry a voice accompanied this event at His baptism -
"And having been baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon Him. And behold a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I have found My delight." (Matt. 3:16,17)
This dramatic and ginally supernatural manifestation at the commencement of His public ministry suggests His pleasingness to His Father throughout those thirty years.
Now when I am curious about those young years I consider other characters in the Bible. All the positive aspects of other people of God in the Bible were running up to and pointers indicating, albiet not with perfection, the kind of human being the Messiah would be.
So, I would consider the young life of say Abel or Isaac or Joseph in Genesis, Joshua, Samuel, David, Solomon, Ruth, Abagail, Jeremiah and any number of other positive examples. We might get a glimpse into the early life of Christ by examining these godly people.
avalanche,
Jesus HAD to perfect a perfect human life for two reasons:
1.) To be that Lamb of God without blemish, without defect, that could atone for the sins of the world.
2.) Become a life giving Spirit to impart His perfect living into ours as the Spirit to compounded into us. Then we could learn from Him (and that at any age).
Your hypothetical seems to be a HUNTING for iniquity, sin, and corruption in the man Jesus. Do you sense some need to seek out filth and moral failure in Jesus?
Would you have fit nicely in the mob crying out "Crucify Him, Crucify Him!"
Do you feel you TOO would have had your good reasons for His condemnation, execution, and REMOVAL from having to be bothered with?
@avalanchethecat saidActually, the Holy Bible does record Jesus Christ as a youth being missing from His family when they left a town, and you know where his family found Him?

In a synagogue impressing rabbis with His knowledge of the Scriptures.
“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?“
(Luke 2:40-49)
@sonship saidThis all stands to reason if, and only if, your scripture is true.
