'I think people choose to believe that certain things don't exist, just like they can choose to believe that certain things do exist.'
You are erroneous in using the words 'choose to' in the above sentence, as people do not choose whether or not to be 'convinced' by something. - For example, I could not choose to believe in superman, as I ...[text shortened]... d never choose to believe in the existence of Superman. Why would that be any different for God?

Where does the choice come into it? You are either convinced or not convinced. You don't choose to be convinced or not convinced. That just isn't logical.
You of course will not concede this point and will continue to dance around the question, wanting as you do to portray 'unbelievers' as having chosen to reject a God they do not actually believe exists. (Rather than merely being unconvinced by the evidence of God's existence).
Just to make crystal clear. I do not choose to reject a God I believe exists. For me there is no choice to be made. I am not convinced by the evidence that God exists. Therefore I do not believe in him. To choose to not believe in a God that I am not convinced exists is a nonsense.

To be honest sir you need to give yourself longer than 6 minutes to reply to a post. (Which preferably would come in the form of an answer rather than a question).
And no I don't think belief is a reflex action that occurs devoid of the will.

Again, just dancing around a question rather than answering it. (Or else misunderstanding a question and then answering this misunderstanding rather than the actual question).
-Removed-Why do you insist on dragging my user name into a debate with a different poster? You talk about forum etiquette, that is horrible. Leave me out of it.
I have not been able to follow this thread from post 40 to now, and the first thing I see is a juvenile accusation. Knock it off Dive!!!

To Fetchmyjunk: I have observed your posting style, and it's no different than that of FMF. Endless questions with nothing resolved. State your claim...and be bold with it.
Neither of you have given any merit to a 'purpose in life'. None!!
Be clear, and have a point. Stop the cross examinations!!
What is your purpose in life?
