Most of Beckham salary is linked to his deals not his playing. He made Real Madrid a fortune and Man Utd before that. Real Madrids market value will take a huge knock, just like Man Utd's did.
He was easily England best player for 5 years and plays with passion and is the best set piece player and long passer I have ever had the fortune to watch. I have spoken to a number of people who have met him and they all say what a nice fellow he is.
I am a huge Beckham fan but even at his best he has never been in the top three players in the world. But face facts, Ronaldhino is butt ugly.

Banks was great.
Most of the US players play in the MLS or in the EPL.
We've just started to see our guys play on the continent and as far as I know never in South America.
I think the US is better than a lot of people give us credit for being. It seems likely we will continue to produce a string of excellent goalies and we will get better in the field. I bet we shock some people in 2010.
