I think that all you players that enjoy FAST games should kick off your shoes, engage others in a 1/0 challenge, and sit back and WAIT to see how long these games can take.
I like fast games but I am also engaged in 21/28 games. Try those it's really surprising when they are up again for a move.
Originally posted by MissOleumMissOleum is absolutely right!! This is really simple! If each and every player who thinks Mr. Heng takes too long to make his moves resigned,
Heng may be a slow player, and it may be advisable to avoid entering tournaments that he has already entered. Players can choose to resign those games without moving if slow play upsets them.

If you don't like slow play, there is a blitz site. I'm sure you'd be happier there.
1.he might win a few tournaments, but they would be MEANINGLESS since HE would know he really didn't "win" them. I hate to see selfish play rewarded but this actually might work.
2. His game load would go down fairly drastically! Then he'd have plenty of time to play with Adramforall and Ponderable.
This is the second thread started by a person who is NOT RECEIVING the basic courtesies of civilized chess from an opponent. One of the basic courtesies of chess is to understand your responsibilities to a group you've joined voluntarily, and not treat them as though they were individual games! and yes AD, there IS a difference! To clan games as well! When you get to High School take a logic course.
Originally posted by MissOleumWhy do you refer to it as "slow play". Surely "using the preagreed time as he wishes" would be more accurate.

"Slow play" to me infers that he is not moving within the time controls.

OK, he was a bit slow but that just gave me more time to think about the moves I wanted to make. I don't really see what the problem is.
Originally posted by davejacksDon't you understand? The problem is SO obvious. We have someone on this site using time before they move! I mean, how ridiculous is that?

This is some of the most baseless, arrogant, pathetic complaints I have had in a few years.
Find something real to complain about.ðŸ˜
Be warned people, when you enter a 21/21 game, your opponent might just use their time!
Now for the complainers, if you are tired of games going on and on. Enter a tournament or start a game with a time that you think you would be willing to wait for. DUH.😲
There is no real problem! It's perfectly OK for one person to take over a year to play one round in a tournament, even after ALL others have been done for over three months (Just extrapolating a bit), thereby, if all rounds are played the same way, a four round tourn. could take up to five years before the ONE player is knocked out, and it can finish in a reasonable time, but ONLY from that point. I was surprised that the ONLY tourn. I had entered at the time took over three months to play! The banded tourn. I'm in now is seeming to be going the same way as Jhard's!! With one player holding up others for over a month after each and every other player other than his opponent being DONE!!

How many days into a 7 day timeout and 7 day timebank move should a player be timed out?
Logic says once he uses up all his time. You and jhard seem to think differently. So what is your answer?
Thanks in advance,

I honestly can't believe we're having this conversation on a correspondence chess site. Glad to see some sensible people have made some intelligent comments. Heng, and all slow players are not holding up tournies, they're taking part in them, and all rounds end and begin in the time that they do. There's no hurry. I think the real issue here is some idiot being very rude about another member of the site in public.
Hey Rag ole buddy! My answer is this: "if heng wasn't allowed to be playing +800 games at one time, then LOGIC tells me that he is going to move more often within the 7/7 time frame." Not so much the time rule is his problem, but in the SPIRIT of pace of play in a tournament, the tournament is loosing its appeal due to one player dragging out his moves because he is too darn busy playing several hundred games. Rag, you ever been behind an automobile, going the MINIMUM speed in the passing lane? That is a BUMMER RAG! Comprendo?? 🙄
Ok Lukerik, how about you suggest some topics of conversation and we will decide if your subject is good or bad. You see my friend, it's about improvement to the site and to all players so that ONE player doesn't BOGGG DOWNNN THE process. Make senses? Oh and by the way, go give heng a ring-a-ding ding and enjoy a years play with him on one game. LOL! 😀
Originally posted by jhardMake sense to me. But I don't want to upset all the posters here who think that if HE want to play +800 games AND be a no-life like of bunch of others players here on RHP, then it's his own business.

800 games at the same time, man THIS is ridiculous, much more than all that conversation...
