If, in past years, Metallica had been throwing games in already-won challenges to cash in points at the end of a ratings year, even if adhering to the rules-as-written, yes, I would consider that unsporting and absolutely unfair to all the players on the other side of the board. [Edit: unless other clans were doing the same at the end of the year]
If that had ever been the case, I hope that will not be Metallica's policy this year.
If, as the evidence more than suggests, McTayto has been throwing tournament games in order to "punch above his weight" in clan challenges, similarly, even if adhering to the rules-as-written, I would also consider that unsporting and unfair to the other players.
I'd like to think we all begin and play through each game in good faith.
Further, some of the language used by certain posters regarding this and other issues has been on many occasions unsporting and uncivil, and in contravention of the forum guidelines.
Looking forward to better days on RHP, with an atmosphere of restored civility and sportsmanship*, which I believe this game and this community deserve.
Such a restoration is not Russ's task to accomplish with some feat of marvellous coding. It is ours to accomplish, each one of us, in how we demonstrate respect for the game and for each other.

Looking at McTayto's last 200 games, his rating for clan only games is close to 2000. His tournament rating over the same period is well below 500. His current rating for clan games is 1100.
Hopefully Russ can fix this problem sooner rather than later.
In the following game, he missed mate on the move on move no. 25, which a 2000 player would not have missed.
