An egg can be construed as a weapon. It could take your eye out, cut you when it bursts… of knock you out… if it’s an ostrich egg.

The common assault law doesn’t differentiate for implements used in minor assault cases. The offender should probably be more concerned about the criminal damage charge and possible compensation costs as I expect, like most public figures, Farage has his suits made bespoke.

If a politician doesn’t want to be punched, then he shouldn’t be allowed to punch either.

It’s the high ground which comes with public service.
