@mghrn55 saidYou do know that most people who get vaccinated are not protected from getting sick and pass COVID to others just as effectively as those who were not vaccinated.
I have been vaccinated twice and am sitting on a patio enjoying a beer.
I have a mask with me. The only reason being that there are enough dumbasses out there who have refused to be vaccinated because they want to protect their freedom.
Yet, there is my freedom to not wear a mask being compromised by these dumbasses.
At least the beer tastes nice.
Oh yeah, that would be the truth and you do not like the truth.
Another truth, variants generally come from large dense populated areas like India and China. Vaccinated or not in the Americas does not effect variants in a sizable way. But stupid people do not care about facts.
@mchill saidI disagree.
"Life is hard. It’s harder when you’re stupid!"
This quote, sometimes attributed to John Wayne, first appeared in the 1971 novel “The Friends of Eddie Coyle” by George V. Higgins.
To all you (less than) brilliant folks want to turn this pandemic into your personal little political statement, I say go for it! It's unfortunate that many of you will get sick, and some will ...[text shortened]... your health at risk. Nature has a way of weeding out the old, the frail, and yes - - the stupid! 😏
Not adhering to the measures and not getting vaccinated leads to severe health risks to elderly people and folk with comprimised immune systems (like transplant patients, persons being treated for cancer, etc. ) .
That is no way for society to work, advance or even call itself civil.
And don’t forget that the unvaccinated have a much higher chance of getting severely ill. That can lead to extreme pressure on the health systems (just look at Mississippi today).
All in all, their moronity and sometimes selfishness, is endangering lives and putting hospitals under needless pressure.
Not to mention, it’s because of them we still have measures of all sorts to contend with.
I cannot be in favour of mandatory vaccinations, but I certainly feel these nasty little arses need to be reminded of their nasty stupidity every corner of the road.
Oh, and when they’re in hospital for Covid, or cancer, when they’re obese, smoking, drinking alcohol, eating at a McDonalds, having a BBQ, driving over the speed limit, ANYTHING, they should be showered with the contempt and loathing they deserve.
Yeah. I have an opinion about this one.
@eladar saidAs pointed out multiple times: you are wrong.

Vaccinated people get far less ill from corona than unvaccinated people.
All research to date points towards vaccinated people being less likely to pass the disease on to others and that the time frame of passing it on is shorter.
Stop spreading moronity. Moron.
@eladar saidThere's a wikipedia page that lists deaths by bear attack. I guarantee there are fewer people on this list than the under-65 COVID list.
You are ignorant of the facts. This statement is factually accurate.
Face it, you are reacting based on what you have been told to believe by the media and know nothing of the true numbers.
You have no clue about the probability of death for those younger than 65 who contract covid.
I'll patiently wait for your facts.

@wildgrass saidYou tell 'em, Wildgrass.
The answer to your question is... more people under 65 die from COVID than die from bears. Why is the government taking my freedom away?
And as soon as we get this pandemic conquered, we're going after those bears, because we want a perfectly safe world for everyone.
...yeah...
@shavixmir saidLast month vaccinations were 42 percent effective, which means 58 percent not effective.

But hey, remain ignorant if you like. The US is finding that Israel.was right about vaccines being ineffective in preventing people from getting sick from the delta variant.
I'm vaccinated, as is my wife and daughter. I have a 10-year old granddaughter that is obviously too young, but is of the generation that is comfortable wearing the mask and working online from home during school.
That said, I'm a "fiscal conservative" and a "social liberal." I live in the southern United States, and am a white male who has worked all my life.
There. I listed all of the things required of me to be hated by everyone! The "anti-vaxxer" crowd can hate me for being vaccinated! The Left can hate me for being fiscally conservative! The Right can hate me for being socially liberal! Everyone (I suppose) can hate me for being white! (Sorry, I was born that way). The Left can REALLY hate me for being a white southerner who has worked all my life!
I am vaccinated. I wear a mask (for all the good that does). And I pretty much ALWAYS vote "R". But don't you worry, Original Poster Man...I won't be around that much longer. My days are shortening.
So are yours. Welcome to the Human Race.
@wildgrass saidThat's not fair, unless I can also take my gun to the same baseball game. You know, in case I need to shoot your bear...
All I want is the freedom to take my pet grizzly bear to a baseball game.
@eladar saidWrong !!

Vaccines do not necessarily prevent infection.
Vaccines prevent illness, and in many cases, death once infection occurs.
That is why the deaths from COVID are of the order 95-99% from unvaccinated people.
You can call that propaganda if you like.
Most of us call that facts backed by statistics.
@eladar saidDon't know where you get your numbers from.

But even 42% effective is better than 0% effective which is the no vaccination route.
