@eladar saidI do not, sir. Know my vitamin D level, that is.
@Liljo
I am not vaccinated and I am just fine. I never get a flu shot and get the flu about every 10 to 20 years. Somehow I survive.
I know my blood vitamin D level, do you?
If your grandkid can do well virtually more power. Most kids do not.
Peace to you and yours!
@liljo saidIt is very important for your health.

Low vitamin D levels lowers your immune system making you susceptible to things like Covid and Cancer. The suggested blood levels is now between 50 and 100 ng.
@sonhouse saidVitamin D specifically prevents the autoimmune reaction that kills people who die from Covid.
@Eladar
I think you concentrate on the one vitamin while ignoring hundreds of other vitamins and minerals just as important.
But it is true other stuff also helps. For cancer curcumin is also very helpful. Before Metal jumps in, yes Selenium is important, but you can get more than enough Selenium from two Brazil nuts.
@Eladar
It is widely recognized we need vitamins and minerals as well as fiber, carbs, protein but the best way to get all that is to eat natural foods and sun and not depend on pills if you can. If you are above the Arctic circle in winter, the only way you will get D is with pills so they have their place.
@sonhouse saidFunny how people claim it is best to get vitamins from foods and then turn around and claim vitamin fortified foods also count.

But that is really a non issue. If you are getting what you need naturally, great.
Have your doctor run a blood test to measure the amount of vitamins you have in your body. If you need to raise that amount, and cannot do that through diet and sunlight, then supplement with pills. For vitamin D you should have a minimum of 50 ng/ml.
If you do not know your numbers, then you are leaving yourself open to diseases needlessly.
If your blood sugar levels are too high, then eliminate fast carbs and find low carb fiber sources to replace the grains you need to give up.
@sonhouse saidDo you have th ed same point of view when it comes to medical prescriptions?

@eladar said"Among drivers and front-seat passengers, seat belts reduce the risk of death by 45%, and cut the risk of serious injury by 50%. Seat belts prevent drivers and passengers from being ejected during a crash. ... Seat belts save thousands of lives each year, and increasing use would save thousands more."

Is it logical to use these statistics to argue that because seatbelts work then we don't need mandatory drivers licenses, vehicle safety regulations, traffic lights or any other public health measure that prevents unnecessary traffic deaths?
It's obvious to me (but perhaps not to you) that just because one thing works that we need to ditch all the other tools in the toolbox.
@wildgrass
My belief is that the government has as much business telling adults they must wear a seat belt as it does telling adults what they do in their own bedrooms.
@eladar saidWe don't live in the government you believe in.

It's nonsense to draw the line at masks though.
@wildgrass saidYes I know, freedom is long gone. Now we live in a want to be Communist China state.
