Seriously
... books are better than TV, trust me 😉
Depends on the book, actually. And whenever one thinks that any one single book captures the essence of any one argument, he's just showing off his ignorance.

Is it too hard to understand that there are heavy implications
behind boob jobs?
Social, cultural, economic, etc.??

Answer, yes or no, moron.
There are none, with the exception of being subject to prejudice.

Me watch many TV and it never lie to me!

You are kidding though, right? There are many crap books out there and
many worthwhile documentaries on TV. To say it like that really doesn't help
your argument. Tell us, why must we all read that specific book before we
can have opinions on the matter of plastic surgery? 😕
Oh, forget about Barthes if you want, mate. The point is:

Behind a boob job there are MANY things, i.e. what the zillion dollar,
mind-control, media conglomerate wants YOU to buy, not only in
a marketing level, but in a mental level.

There is a package, a bundle that is there for you to acquire
or, if you are uncapable, to be relegated socially. Everywhere you turn,
there are thousands of preconceived 'This is You' slots in which you
must fit in order to function socially:

(a) The fashion girl
(b) The uber stud
(c) The working executive
(d) The hippie
(d) The environmentalist

etc. etc.

And for each one of those stereotypes, the system has everything:

Magazines, clothes, food, TV shows, make-up, etc.

Boob jobs are part of that "ideal" set by the media.

So it's not just plastic. It is how women are now opressed by a
society of consumption.

Shut up. Be smart, like Stocken, and you may get a serious answer...
like stocken.

Seriously, Pal, learn to use your brain.

Oh, the irony.

The man judging all women that have boob jobs as 'idiotic' and 'brainwashed', now complains about the oppression of women.

That is, little boy, because you don't understand that the true
feminists are the ones who struggle against the real opressor
of women...

... and the real opression comes from the 'system', not from males.

Males are opressed as well.

This world is no more about genders, but about we, the people, and
them, the corporations.

Of course this is much for you to grasp.

Keep the insults coming, Seitse. You're just proving me right.

Seriously, kid, it is not shameful to say "I was wrong".

Learn to be humble. Just like in the streets, where people can
actually slap you. Not like in this safe environment.

Pffff.

Most of these posts are missing the real issue. It's not about whether they look good, or a debate on a person's right to do what they want. The real issue is.....

WHY do women want breast implants for purely cosmetic reasons in the first place?

Bingo. Now that is a real argument.

Of course people can do whatever they want.

It is the motivation question that triggers a full set of
implications of diverse nature.

Lol!!

And the 'system' is composed of whom? Aliens?

Some feminists are as oppressive of women as men. Oppression is attempting to impose your standards of what 'real' women should be like. Replacing one type of standard for another is also oppressive.

Ask each one of them. And then ask yourself who are you to judge their decision.

Do you not understand how getting a boob job is objectifying yourself?

So called "good boobs" are just objects. If you put those "objects" on your body you are, by definition, objectifying yourself.

You're the bigot spouting your prejudice free under the anonymity of internet.

I'm surprised you haven't restarted to insult my nationality as in previous times. Maybe you're learning after all.

No, it's not. Only for YOU it is a sign of them objectifying themselves. That says more about yourself than about them.

What is the fundamental difference between piercings and breast implants?

I'll tell you. The group that spouts the prejudice is different.
