Yes it is a coca-cola commercial, specially when you flag that to
avoid doing a cosntructive criticism.
When your beliefs in freedom (the same I have) are NOT sided by
a critical analysis, then it is just repeating what the slogans tell you.
I'm quite critical of my positions, that's why I strive for consistency in them. Respect for individual freedoms cannot be about replacing behavioral norms about looks with another norms, it must be about respecting the differences.

Black and white. Says so the person that says making those questions
is attacking the personal freedom of women.
Man, seriously, humankind will not advance if people like you keep
saying there are "forbidden questions".
I think uzless already did a pretty good point in this matter.

Listen to yourself.
I hope you are a football player, not a social scientist.
I'm done with you. It's impossible to seriously analyze something
with someone so brainwashed.

other possibly damaging beautification process. It's a valid argument,
but it's a personal choice. Since it's not going to hurt anyone else it's OK
with me if you have larger, plastic breasts implanted at the risk of
getting infected and what not.
Now, don't get me wrong. If someone in my close circle of friends decides
to do an operation that is possibly dangerous, for no other reason than
to look good, I would definitely talk to that person and make sure it's
not because (s)he thinks it will gain him/her popularity in certain social
circles. I would try to make him/her see how vain and meaningless that
would be. But in the end, if (s)he decides to go through with it, I wouldn't
judge him/her and I would still be as good a friend as I ever were.
Something as superficial as a breast implant cannot get in the way of my
opinion on someone.

Just seems if a boob job girl was in the commercial she'd be yelling "Because I want people to like me, because I want people to like me"
😵
Good point about the breasts. I wanted big breasts as a kid until I went on a trip in the jungle and my well-endowed professor ended up with bruise marks left by her breasts from the motion of the off-road trek. That night I became thankful for being B not D. ;-) Now in my 20s I love having a dancers body, I may never be huge, but my ability to move and lack of back problems more than makes up for it. Plus, one day they'll get big when I have kids. So who am I kidding? I get the best of both worlds.
I was asked in a pm how I agree with Palynka in parts and Seitse in
parts. Thought I'd clarify it here.
It's simple. I agree with Seitse that certain ideals are being pushed down
our throats, and I would be an idiot if I couldn't see that it has some
affect on young women with poor self images. I would also be stupid not
to realise that this is a form of oppression. If a woman has breast
implants for this reason I would have to agree with Seitse that she's
been brainwashed (though not that she's an idiot). At the same time, I
realise full well how by so militantly opposing all women choosing to
"enhance" their appearance through operations like this actually has the
opposite affect of what Seitse's trying to achieve. It will oppress women
who has that appearance by nature.
I am very much a kindred in soul to Seitse though. As I'm sure that
anyone who's actually wasted time reading my posts will have noticed
I can also be very stubborn. Especially when I serve my opinions on
certain religious attitudes, capitalism and cruelty to animals. I just won't
accept that whatever usefulness these can provide outweighs the wrong.
So, I agree with them both in parts. 😕
