hahaha read vivify's post just before yours and it explains why their charter sounds so reasonable.
Hamas's actions speak louder than their words.
You claimed they openly call for the extermination of the Jews.

Those statements by one individual do not represent official Hamas policy: https://www.jta.org/quick-reads/hamas-official-calls-on-palestinians-abroad-to-kill-jews

I don't recall any attacks by Hamas outside Palestine and Israel despite this one person's rhetoric.

How about a dozen more Hamas leaders doing the same?

If you want to claim individual members of Hamas have made statements equivalent to a call for the genocide of Jews that is certainly true.

But Hamas' official position remains as reflected in its 2017 Charter that their war is against the Zionists, not the Jews. Claiming otherwise is simply not true.

Not individual members.
Individual LEADERS with high-ranking positions in Hamas..,
If you want to claim that their propaganda puff-piece meant for the world to see while ignoring what their leaders are preaching to their followers and continue to be a self-brainwashed idiot, then you are not nearly as smart as you think you are.
Look at their words and look at their actions, stop pointing out some bullchit they put out in their charter or whatever.

Your 55 second IDF piece showed several unnamed imams, the Hamas official statement which we already discussed, a Hamas co-founder reading a short hadith (which is not interpreted as a call to eliminate all Jews by any reputable Islamic scholars) and one other official.

Why should that be accepted as Hamas' official position over its 2017 charter?

Their names and positions in Hamas are on the bottom of the video.
You just ignored them.
LOOK at what Hamas does.
Stop making excuses for them.

I read them; did you?

What Hamas does is fight against Israeli occupation. That they do so very often by violating the laws of war is not in dispute.

If Hamas says intifada, it's probably about genocide.

If an undergrad says intifada, it's probably not about genocide.

So it does indeed depend on context.

Yeah? So? A bunch of criminals call a banana an apple, are you going to take their word for it?
Good point.

If some guy tells you he's a woman, do you take his word for it?

Stefanik is a political hack just like you.

This is typical right wing "cancel culture" abetted by the mainstream wing of knee jerk, pro-Zionist US "liberalism".

Therefore 'intifada' is an inflamatory word. There are a whole bunch of other English words that can be used without giving people the idea you are referring to genocide.
