At the end of the Chinese civil war the defeated Nationalists, also known as the Kuomintang, retreated to Taiwan and made it their seat of government while the victorious Communists began ruling the mainland as the People's Republic of China. Both sides said they represented all of China.

The USA is selling Taiwan weapons so my government is arming the Kuomintang that controls Taiwan. It appears that the proxy war with Russia is not enough. Getting into a proxy war with China in Taiwan seems to be the goal now. Then we will be paying for two proxy wars.

Biden contradicted himself on the matter. He has no right to use American military force to defend Taiwan. He can only help Taiwan defend themselves according to the Taiwan Relations Act.

She's a California Congressperson for San Francisco and Taiwan is Silicon' Valley's (just down the freeway a bit from SF) closest business partner in the microchip world. This technology is of major global importance. Russia and China can't compete in this realm.
