The motivation behind these laws have nothing to do with election fraud; the aim is specifically voter suppression and making it harder for anyone who may vote Democratic to do so.
If Republicans were concerned about voter fraud they would've impeached Trump immediately after he was recorded threatening an election official if he doesn't overturn voting results. Instead, ...[text shortened]... and he's their lead candidate for 2024.
Clearly, election fraud is not the motive for these laws.

Georgia does not need any new laws making it hard to cheat. Neither does any other state. No cheating occurred on a scale which would have tipped the last election. The election was not stolen, although Trump tried to. Trump lost, Biden won fair and square.

Conservatives know minorities and immigrants have a more difficult time producing ID due a number of factors mostly caused by systemic racism. Since minorities tend to vote for Democrats, conservatives want voter ID laws to suppress that vote.
Conservatives tried this before with literacy laws that were intended to keep blacks from voting. Fast forward, conservatives still haven't changed.
