Parasite brought up in another thread "a man about 50 years old who looked like a fisherman his whole life wearing a miniskirt and a blonde wig that kept sliding off"
That made me think of civil rights laws and anti-discrimination laws.
So let me post this to the group...
Assume that Parasite's description is dead on.
Now assume that you're hiring manager at a white collar office. Law, accounting, business, it doesn't matter...
Would you hire an otherwise qualified person who met that description?
I'm not asking whether it's illegal or legal. I'm asking whether you would do it.
@shavixmir saidSorry, I pressed submit too early by mistake... the post is finished now.
So? I see plenty of workers showing arse crack when they bend over.
@sh76 saidIt would depend.

To make it a little more realistic:
Say I want to hire a communications expert. Normally you would look for someone with a proper degree, etc.
But say you specifically want to communicate about sexually transmitted diseases with illiterate people who speak Korean or Arabic.
Suddenly, the communications expert is not what you're looking for. You're looking for someone who speaks said languages, knows the culture and will be able to bring the needed message in a way that's acceptable. So, you might be looking at someone who's never studied in their life.
The same would go with a cross dressing lawyer. Say you need someone who will be able to connect with the said goal group? It might be the better option.
So, it depends on your goals.
I don't think a cross dressing fisherman with a faulty wig would be acceptable on a fisherboat for health and safety reasons.
@sh76 saidNot in a client-facing role. Back office, maybe.

Working with clients means you sacrifice your right to take personal liberties. You are serving THEIR requirements, not yours.
@spruce112358 saidWould you be worried about the person's mental state?

@shavixmir saidI would not employ someone who wore a MAGA hat to a job interview. I would see that as the person making a very strong statement that they cannot resist sharing their biases. That's a no-no for statistical work.
I would be more worried about someone’s mental state if they wore a MAGA hat.
Which is not the same as a person with gender dysphoria dressing a certain way to feel better about themselves. Only if they talked about it in the interview would I feel that they might be overly obsessed with that topic and therefore not suitable.

Of course not, but this is an example so extreme, as to not even be relevant. You would be very hard pressed to find a man about 50 years old who looked like a fisherman his whole life wearing a miniskirt and a blonde wig that kept sliding off" applying for a job at a law firm or accounting office. Employment discrimination situations are normally about race, gender or sexual orientation.
Does your white owned company have enough old people? ✔️
Does your white owned company have enough gay people? ✔️
Does your white owned company have enough immigrants? ✔️
Does your white owned company have enough teenagers? ✔️
Does your white owned company have enough black people? ✔️
There is no box to ✔️ for hiring middle aged straight white men.
Now when an immigrant opens a business here they hire their own kind and it's usually Muslim or Indian and they definitely don't follow the rules that are forced on white owned companies.
Very soon the non whites will be the majority and you're a complete idiot if you think they will have laws to protect whatever and whoever is the minority then.
Who is at fault? POS white liberals.

I've always though highly of Canadians. They seemed to be an intelligent, well-adjusted group.
It seems I'll have to rethink this -
@shavixmir saidAnd you're entitled to hire or not hire people based on their political opinions.
I would be more worried about someone’s mental state if they wore a MAGA hat.
I'm just wondering if people would also be nervous enough about the mental state of those suffering from gender dysphoria to also make one hesitant to hire such person.
@sh76 saidWould you hire a guy who wore a gun to an interview? Let's say you did the interview in an open carry state, in an off-site coffee shop where the owners seemed to not have a problem.
