@Cliff-Mashburn saidIn Islam? Both women and men had their say in how thinks were run . Indeed, in the year given (610) women were permitted to be judges, scholars, and the like.
So explain to me who was voting in 600 AD?
Would you like examples or prefer to wallow in your ignorance?
@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidwhat happened since then?

and yes, give an example of what you claim. (women judges in Islam)
@Cliff-Mashburn saidWhy is this a driving concern for you?

You people live and die by the non sequitur, don't you?
@Mott-The-Hoople saidSo, ignorance it is!
what happened since then?

@Mott-The-Hoople saidOkay, your example is Amra bint Abdurrahman (arguably one of the greatest scholars among the 2nd generation of early Muslims). She was a jurist, a mufti, and a noted scholar.
what happened since then?

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidOK they had democratic elections in the 600's.

God you suck.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidYour argument seems to have fallen off a cliff, Cliff.

@Mott-The-Hoople saidthat we condemn muslims who think that too, while you hypocrites don't condemn christian fanatics.
EVERY MUSLIM thinks that....what exactly is your point?

Of course, this has nothing whatever to do with Muslims, in America or anywhere else. Some people just try to deflect by criticizing Islam. The silence from the Evangelical right-wing on this issue is deafening. The good shepherd has obviously not thought this through though. Suppose, for the sake of argument, that his wife did not vote, that he, the pastor, voted for the whole family--just one vote instead of two. Now multiply that by the rest of the Evangelicals, who mostly voted for Trump (because they thought he was going to eliminate abortions or whatever) -- it would cut Trump's margin in the Bible Belt in half. Hurrah! Dis-enfranchise half the Evangelical vote! Never mind that it's unconstitutional -- I'm all for it!
@moonbus saidHow dare you.
PS to Suzi: I bet this really gets yer dander up ! 😆
Not that Suzi needs any defenders. 😉
Oh, and what was that thing Pastor Wilson said about America not being a totalitarian hellhole decades ago when sodomy was illegal -- hahaha! -- as if he didn't know that might read: consensual sex between and among presumably free and consenting Americans (using Liberty Lipgloss or not) was somehow the cause of the Chaotic Manbaby totalitarian hellhole a lot of us hope will end any moment now.
Which is not to say I'm in favor of rainbow/alphabet-activist totalitarianism, either.
