@wildgrass saidKeep in mind Biden's spending brings high tech industry into the US, expands Internet access and rebuilds decaying infrastructure, creating jobs and economic growth. Trump's decreasing taxes on the rich did nothing but create more debt. Trickle Down economics sounds great on paper but in reality has never worked to produce jobs or economic growth.
One of my favorite non partisan (right leaning) organizations "Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget" put together a VERY detailed report of the relative impacts that Trump and Biden presidencies have had on US national debt.
The results are quite striking, my fellow fiscal conservatives. One of these two presidents has done a much better job as steward of tax dolla ...[text shortened]... will go with the lower number, always.

@Metal-Brain saidLol your fact check says that bidens SOTU statement that Trump accumulated more debt than any president ever was true but needed context.

That fact check also said that the CRFB analysis we are discussing in this thread is accurate. Trump signed legislation during his presidency that added double the amount to the debt compared to Biden.
So, no one disputes the accuraxy of the analysis except you. Even motts conservative rag magazine says it's accurate and useful.
@Phranny saidApparently the only counterargument to Trump's insane numbers on government spending is that Biden should have repealed all of it.

@wildgrass saidBiden is projected to exceed Trump's spending by the end of his term.

They both spend about the same.
@Metal-Brain saidBidens spending created less debt than Trump spending. A lot less. Basically half. That's the whole point of the thread. Everyone arguing against that has posted links that actually all agree with that.

You cherry picked debt instead of spending.

@Metal-Brain saidNo I did not cherry pick. It is the topic of the thread.
Debt, not spending.
You cherry picked debt instead of spending.
The next time you hear a republican talk about Bidens debt or deficit, please remember this fact:
Trump spending contributed twice as much to debt as Bidens spending.

@wildgrass saidThe topic of this thread is spending. It is right in your title. Not debt.

@wildgrass saidThe title of this thread is federal government spending, yet you cite debt instead of spending. Spending and debt are not equal. You made a faulty assumption.

Do counterfeiters need to borrow money?

@Metal-Brain saidFor the millionth time, spending causes debt. If you don't have the money, don't spend it.

@wildgrass saidNOT ALL SPENDING CAUSES DEBT!

Enough with debt alone. You are deliberately trying to mislead people.
@Metal-Brain saidTrump spending did lead to debt, and it led to a lot more debt than Biden.

The numbers are comprehensive. That statement is 100% accurate and straightforward to understand. You keep trying to complicate.

@wildgrass saidThis thread is about spending, not debt. You can tax more to spend more with less debt. That is what the inflation tax does.
Trump spending did lead to debt, and it led to a lot more debt than Biden.

A thread about spending should be about spending, not debt alone.
