You are confusing the messenger with the people making the allegations again. Detroit News did not criticize Allied Security Operations Group, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel did. Detroit News simply reported the allegations.

Dana Nessel and Jocelyn Benson tried to cover up the report by preventing the release. They did it under the guise of protecting election integrity when in fact they did it to cover up the results. Now that their lie was exposed they have to make up an excuse for why they covered it up, they were covering up lies.
Lies don't need covering up. You simply expose the lies. Apparently there were no lies to expose, hence the cover up.
