@AverageJoe1
What do profits have to do with it. Right. You are forgetting Fox news ADMITTING to writing fake news the KNOW is fake BECAUSE they want profits to go up. Now they are in BILLION dollar lawsuits for some of their false tales.
The fact you even have to ASK that question shows how naive you really are.
You ONLY think about how great it will be for Trump to win again no matter how sleazy Trump gets, like how can evangelical Christians think it's ok for a FLUKING PRESIDENT to have year long mistresses and one night stands with a porn star WHILE HIS WIFE IS HAVING HIS BABY.
What happened to the morality of evangelicals to ignore issues like that?
What happened to YOUR morality to ignore conduct like that, Grab em by the pussy is now the new normal with you and the millions of other Trumpites?
@AverageJoe1 saidYour criterion of success is having stuff. That speaks volumes. Try looking at a country where half the population isn’t angry at the other half, where people don’t need guns to feel safe, where there is functional health care, and the scales might just fall from your eyes. But I doubt it.
This Forum poster says that the United States has not evolved in unbelievable success over the last 250 years to be the most successful of all countries. Pick up a paper and see if Nethterlands is mentioned, about anything! How much Netherlands stuff do you Americans have in your homes? Vice versa??? haha
I doubt Shav is wearing those wooden shoes, more like ...uhh, Nikes?
@KellyJay saidApply that thought to religion, and you’ve got a topic worth discussing.
Have you ever wondered why some are always denouncing right-leaning things, and others are always denouncing left-leaning things? Both may be right in what they are saying, but if there isn't an acknowledgment by each favored side of errors that they don't denounce is anyone seeing clearly what is wrong, but instead are only going to see the faults in those that they dislike, doesn't that make them blind to their own sides errors?
@moonbus saidIt lines up to every topic, don't you think? Conflicting worldviews carry different means of setting up what people think is important, so they are going to weigh everything differently giving different things more importance than each other.

What was the purpose for your god to allow humans to make and use atomic weapons that can kill entire cities with one bomb and kill 90% of humans and animals and bombs now so huge in megatonnage even the RUSSIANS are afraid to use them.
It seems to me, assuming there is a god, it WANT'S humans to fail.
We live on the most jewel like planet for thousands of light years around and here we are screwing it up so bad we are effecting evolution as we speak. Hundreds of species gone extinct directly because of mankind taking over former territories of various animal habitats like Polar bears now losing ground because of human caused climate change.
If I were a god, I would for starters pull every pound of enriched Uranium present in fission bombs and fusion bombs and dump that crap into the sun, then off all the dictators and their staff of would be dictators.
Speaking to all humans in their own language should not be a problem with an all powerful god don't you think? "this is the Lord, stop fighting your wars, start peace agreements and stick to them🙂 or I will stop them for you''.
Don't see anything like that happening so it seems to me this god either wants Humanity to fail or maybe there is no god and all these gods were 100% man made.
@sonhouse saidYou want me too answer that question here or take it to the Spiritual forum?

@sonhouse saidWe have the ability to love one another to the point of costing us our own lives, no greater love than to lay down one’s life for another. With that we can also see how dark evil is by how far “we” are willing to go to satisfy our own desires for lust, hatred, and desire for power.

It is all being played out and we are witnessing what occurs when we act on behalf of others, as a parent for does what is best for their kids over doing whatever it is they really want for their kids sake. A soldier jumping on a grenade to save his friends, living on less to help others. In other words making love the standard for all of our choices. It is living a life for the sake of others, like Jesus going to the cross for us.
In this world we can do it our way to the extreme in the other direction, for our satisfaction. To various degrees we can act to build up our fame and fortune. We also can treat others not as individuals but objects to be used to scratch our lust full itches.
Without a stable standard where we value ourselves as individuals with great importance the death of others can be simply a means to an end. Without a standard where we are all under it and viewed sacred, then we can view some lives worthless, then do whatever we want to them because they are unimportant.
I believe God is allowing good and evil to be played out so both are revealed to the nth degree. God then entered into human life by becoming one of us and taking on all of our guilt to save us from the wrath to come, because evil will be judged for the harm it causes.
Last point life doesn’t end here at our death.
@sonhouse saidThis life is not it! What comes next is eternal and here we see what occurs when hate, lust, and vengeance rules our hearts. And it doesn’t matter how many die at any point in time. The only thing that will stop us from seeing every one we know and care about die, is if we die first. None of us are going to make it out of this life alive, may as well complain that the sky is blue.
@KellyJay
So it matters little if we off ourselves and 90% of the animals on Earth in a catastrophic nuclear war and your god would do nothing, maybe go, well it was a failed experiment?
@KellyJay
Well it turns out I LOVE this jewel of a planet and don't want humans to screw it up. You may want to live in the fantasy world of a better world after living on a jewel of a planet but in the real world we know you die you turn into dust, not enter some golden gate where only CERTAIN folks get in so you can scare the folks to believe in a man made religion.
Like a man with an ant colony, where he looks at one ant, exactly like the rest, he goes YOU TICK ME OFF, and squash said ant.
Right. A god would go, you blaspheme you dirty human, I am SO much better than you and ZAP, now you know my power, now that you are a burning pile of dust. Anthropomorphic much? Funny how a god has to be MALE. So said god has to reproduce? Needs a few female gods to keep up the stock?
Then 'he' tells humans, hey, you men, you be worth 50 shekels and you disgusting women, 30. Live with it, bitch.
Tell me how a god would say that?
@KellyJay saidAcknowledging that the other side represents legitimate interests is the first step towards reaching a consensus solution everyone can sign onto in good faith. Slagging the other side off as simply wrong and not worthy negotiating partners is the high road to a country which lurches from one extreme to the other, depending on which side is in power.
It lines up to every topic, don't you think? Conflicting worldviews carry different means of setting up what people think is important, so they are going to weigh everything differently giving different things more importance than each other.
I blame the Tea Party and Evangelicals for the current disaster of American politics. It's the Tea Party and Evangelical members of the GOP who refuse to negotiate with anybody and who have dragged the formerly centrist Republican Party radically to the right. Some of them openly declare that they intend to end democracy and implement a 'Christian state.' They may succeed, but they'll turn America into a parody of Iran doing it.

Trump also wants to end democracy, though for different reasons. It's an unholy alliance, Trump and Evangelicals ...
