@kevcvs57 saidThey are trying out 'nincompoop' in the General Forum.
What will I call someone who posts something that’s blatantly idiotic?
Answers must fall within posting guidelines.
Close enough for you? 😉
From my experience on this site in over a decade all name calling leads to is more name calling never solves anything. One should be able to say what they want to say without the name calling like kids in a school yard! Yes, I've been guilty myself in the past.

@lemondrop saidJust doesn’t give me any sense of closure though.
just call them misinformed and move on
I suppose I could say ‘ your statement or claim is idiotic’ but can I even say that.
@no1marauder saidI was thinking of his pal elader, I’ve levied that accusation at him loads of times in the past, it just feels right and he doesn’t seem to mind because he keeps posting idiotic stuff anyway.
Just "whodey" will do in 90% of cases here.
@sleepyguy saidIF the Moderators stuck to the TOS, no name calling would be allowed at all. It seems some of you can't get your point across without the name calling.
It would improve the tone of discourse on the forum even more to ban the use of the pejorative "racist".
Let's all agree, shall we?

@sleepyguy saidI would agree with it being used more sparingly and thoughtfully but there are racist’s and racism does exist.

Perhaps we need to attack the post and not the poster. Is it ok to point out that in your opinion a post is idiotic or racist without labelling the actual poster.
@sleepyguy saidAs directed at a particular poster, fine.

As directed at a public figure or a proposed policy or position, I don't.
So "User X is a racist), no.
But "User X's continuing support for the maintenance of statutes of Confederate leaders on public lands is racist", OK.
@very-rusty saidNo rusty there’s too many letters and syllables and I would probably feel like a nincompoop using it, I need a one syllable word that I can spit out.
