@no1marauder saidWhat's the statute of limitations on that ethnic cleansing? It's well known the Jewish population was ethnically cleansed from the region.
Self- determination should be based on the wishes of the inhabitants assuming that the present population hasn't been determined by artificial border drawing to accommodate ethnic cleansing.
Of course, remedies must take into account equitable principles.
And no, ethnicity is not defined solely by blood quanta. Forced assimilation is ethnic cleansing too.
@Metal-Brain saidThat's it!
You mean because Iran was kicking Israel's ass.
You live in the Upside Down world from Stranger Things!
Am I getting closer?
@spruce112358 saidHUH? you mean Israel is already wiped off the map? I hadn't heard.
BA-BOOOOM!
We gave you 80 years of chances to make this right.
Don't say you didn't have it coming! 😆
@sh76 saidIf Iran does that, since they have pretty much zero air defense Iran would be a nuclear ash pile.
No, he's looking forward to Israel being nuked.
But with a smiley face.
But one thing Iran can do right now.
They can use that 60% uranium to build a dirty bomb, not nuke but filled with uranium making the blast zone uninhabitable for generations due to high radiation. Think Chernobyl On a smaller scale.
@sh76 saidYou sure are a cowardly creature. You always cower from a debate when you know you cannot win. Meanwhile you support genocide in Gaza. You just love starving children to death.

You are an extremely ignorant man. Either that or you are stone cold evil.
@sh76 saidNobody in Iran said they were going to nuke Israel. Stop repeating lies.

You're probably some sort of botched early model AI bot built to badly simulate a conspiracy nut.
@sh76 saidNo one looked forward to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

They were terrible events, but necessary because certain GOVERNMENTS refused JUSTICE. Which is what Israel is doing now. Since the Jews refuse to budge, there is no alternative to paying the price.

@Rajk999 saidI don't think so. I think Spruce is an Atheist (or at least not religious). Spruce is probably one of those former libertarians who got angry at the neoconservative takeover of the GOP under GWB and Cheney and now identify as liberals based mainly on the common enemy rule.
Spruce's smiley faces, which is in every one of his posts means: "Allahu Ackbar"
As a group, they've become extreme isolationists and will now oppose virtually anything Republican in a jilted-lover sort of way. Hatred of Israel is the most obvious manifestation of this attitude because they see Israel as a symbol of American interventionism and the polar opposite of their isolationist libertarianism.
They don't really believe in the Democratic agenda, but they'll support anything that punishes the "neocons." They see Trump as just another neocon puppet.
Think Matt Taibbi or Glenn Greenwald.

Scientist. Technically Unitarian. In favor of religion because only belief answers the question 'what should we do?'
Former libertarian - yes, but only since the Mises Caucus takeover. Don't believe 'small government' and 'no government' (the former libertarian amalgam of minarchist and anarchist) can be reconciled. MAGA has anarchist-libertarian elements but along with an absolute chimera of horror including authoritarianism and government debt.
NOT isolationist AT ALL! Support foreign intervention to defend/establish democracy a la S. Korea and destroy any and every dictator world-wide (at our option, within budget limits of course!)
Have opposed Israel's behavior since I read the history of the conflict circa 1990's.
Registered independent. Views are not fully represented by any political party, but believe that crony-capitalism is now a greater danger than socialism. Vehemently opposed to slow, for-profit justice system. Highly opposed to government debt. Would favor free market in healthcare BUT (considering how allergic people are to that) advocate Medicare For All as a compromise (i.e. making it a utility to restore reasonable costs.)
Don't care much about DEI, LGBTQ+, and find some feminism has gone too far. Find trans distasteful and fully oppose XY's in XX sport.

I still think you're more knee-jerk anti-neocon than you care to admit.
@sh76 saidI don't know much about the views of either of these two.
Think Matt Taibbi or Glenn Greenwald.
"What happened to Matt Taibbi? Everything or nothing, depending on your vantage point. Taibbi is, arguably, as ribald and fearless as ever. It’s just that his targets and topics have begun to shift. He does not write as much on Wall Street or corporate skullduggery anymore, preferring to train his sights on the campus left and the talking heads at MSNBC. Taibbi’s defenders say he hasn’t changed. Rather, it’s the world that has grown more illiberal and hysterical.
“I think, roughly speaking, there are two kinds of journalists — one type wedded to a partisan faction or ideological identity and the second devoted to a more journalistic ethos,” said fellow Substacker Glenn Greenwald. “Oftentimes, the people who are in the first group confuse those in the second group with being part of their group. Matt has always had a journalistic ethos, always questioned orthodoxies and pieties.”
“I think that our business, for being packed with so many radicals and liberals, is inherently conservative,” said Jack Shafer, Politico’s media columnist. “When somebody does something differently, it rankles people.”
Politically, Taibbi describes himself as a “run-of-the-mill, old-school ACLU liberal” who counts Bernie Sanders among the few politicians he actually admires. “The only thing I would say that’s different about my political thinking — and it has nothing to do with policy and politics — suddenly I’m getting along better with people who are Republicans,” he said.
😆
They don't sound like scientists to me. I prefer to work from first principles.
