I take your point but the fact remains that disposing of waste materials from renewable energy production is controllable if the will is there. Whereas there is no way I know of to control Co2 once it’s left the exhaust pipe or chimney.
By contrast, I know of no reliable method of taking microplastics from the sea that doesn't also involve killing a lot of sea life.
