@mghrn55 saidHow do you know the vaccine is working? Saying it and proving it are two different things. I don't even know what you mean by "working". The gene vaccines are not reducing the spread of the virus. They are not working for that.
Blather all you want. Call the COVID vaccine whatever you want.
At the end of all the yapping coming out of your corner, one undeniable fact remains.
The vaccine is working !! Period !!
You carry on about HCQ because an idiot ex-president pushed it.
Time for you to move on.
Even idiots are right occasionally. It just so happens that trump was right about HCQ. Why do you think people you dislike have to be wrong about everything?
Even a complete retard is capable of being right.

@no1marauder saidHe said he took it before he got covid as a prophylactic. If that is true he took it.
He pushed it, but when he got COVID he wasn't stupid enough to take it.
The FDA considers HCQ to be safer than Tylenol. HCQ has been proven to be effective in the early stages of the disease.
There is nothing stupid about taking a safe and effective drug to treat an illness. You are letting your partisan bias get in the way of accepting facts. I'll bet when Trump said the SARS2 virus came from a lab you rejected it for purely partisan reasons and when Biden later said the same thing you became more accepting of the possibility, right?
Politicizing science and medicine is stupid. It is a good way to get people to reject facts simply because they want to and people usually get what they want when all they have to do is fool themselves.
The flu vaccine is a vaccine even though it doesn't achieve herd immunity.
The COVID19 vaccines are vaccines whether herd immunity is achievable or not.
Both "stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease."
Thus, MB's criteria for a vaccine is simply wrong.
@no1marauder saidBreakthrough cases prove you wrong.

No vaccine is 100% effective, so your statement is dead wrong:
"Myth #8: The flu vaccine is 100 percent effective in preventing flu.
FALSE – Although influenza vaccination is not 100 percent effective, when well-matched with circulating flu strains, the flu vaccine has been shown to reduce the risk of flu illness by up to 60%. The flu vaccine was also found to prevent death in otherwise healthy children by as much as 65%. It’s important that everyone 6 months and older get vaccinated against the flu to help reduce the spread of the virus in the community."

@no1marauder saidSo a vaccine that is 0.1% effective is sill considered a vaccine?

I doubt it.
There is no specific flu variant the flu vaccine protects people from. It is a guessing game. They guess which one they think will be the dominant variant. You know as well as I do it is usually ineffective for that reason alone.

a suspension of attenuated or killed microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, or rickettsiae), administered for prevention, amelioration, or treatment of infectious diseases.
gene vaccines contain no attenuated or killed microorganisms. They do not meet the definition of a vaccine.
@metal-brain saidUnless you want to dispute the statistics that 99% of all deaths from COVID are among unvaccinated people, then enough said.

Actually, from my standpoint, enough said irregardless of whether you dispute it or not.
Keep babbling on.
@metal-brain saidA dictionary.
What is your source of information?
You've hijacked this thread in an attempt to change the definition of a vaccine. Back in reality, it is clear and obvious that public health officials have the legal authority to mandate vaccinations. This Supreme Court decision has held since 1905, despite many legal challenges, and is not going to be overturned by claiming 'a vaccine is not really a vaccine'. This decision was made and has been made by public health professionals.
@wildgrass saidHa. I'm just trying to picture your jack-booted govt thugs holding me down when I refuse to take the shot. Which despot country can you imagine doing that....we would be like THEM?!?? Why do I think you kinda like the idea.

I took the shot, I am just making a point. Tell Handy and Kev that I am just making a point, that I am vaccinated.
@averagejoe1 said1905 Supreme Court decision... in these United States. This decision was reaffirmed by the court in 1922, 1927, 1944, and 1995. No mention of thugs or despots, but an interest in promoting the common good of the country rather than a moody temper tantrum from the misinformed.

This is our country's history (which I guess they don't teach anymore) and the rule of law (which conservatives only like if it suits them). Vaccine mandates are not on the way, they've been here for a long long time.

What about preventing the spread? They do not work to do that.

@metal-brain saidYes they do. Words like 'attenuated' (and all other words) have definitions too. You can't just make up new definitions.

@wildgrass saidNo mention either of where it says in the Constitution that the Fed govt can force us to take foreign drugs or vax into our bodies. There are sentences and passages in there that libs and lib judges extrapolate to fit ‘what suits them’ , as you suggest that we do. Why say that about us, when we are for strict interpretation. Youfellers forever tire my fingers.

@AverageJoe1 Just like the insurance companies were able to influence laws, then it isn't a long stretch to realize the same is true with big pharma.
