@Mott-The-Hoople saidThrowing bags of money at a problem and asking no questions is not the reason why we have a strong military. You can eliminate waste without compromising strength.
This system has produced the strongest military in the world…yeah let’s change it said the liberal democrat
@wildgrass saidThe big picture is a lot bigger than Iran. That 2 billion is not just to clean up Iran. Trump has about eight or nine or 10 different world situations, global situations, which in the end will be a world accomplishment for everyone in the world, including us will benefit from this $2B a day expenditure by our country.
Is there anyone who questions military costs and makes decisions to keep prices down? Are there any considerations on this? Whose job is it? Do you think there's a general that's like "well, I know that Lockheed Martin is charging us $7 million per missile, do you think we can use the $1 million missile for this job instead???"

So when he makes deals with the president of Indonesia, which gets us control of the Strait of Malacca, his deal is a signature on a piece of paper that did not cost a nickel. He got Panama Canal back. He probably saved us many billions by not having to defend Taiwan after he has shown Xi the light.
And it could be that Israel is spending a part of that 2 billion, I do not know.. hey, was it worth 2 billion a day to sink the navy and eradicate the Air Force of Iran?. Do you want to be wearing gas masks in the future with nuclear radiation? I think it is worth the money..
Y’all just don’t get it. Let’s use the $2 billion to distributor around everyone in the USA …..that would be $6 a person. 🤔
Grow up boys, we are in the big time.
Imagine Kamala or Gavin Newsom in the big time!!!!😀
@wildgrass saidAt which president was things different under?

@Mott-The-Hoople saidNone. That argument doesn't excuse anyone.
At which president was things different under?
@wildgrass saidWell that comes with the territory. The US is the worlds greatest military power, and its an important role, which needs to be maintained. If you cannot see that then you are blind to the amount of hatred there is out there. Many people want to see America destroyed. Also the US has 750 military bases in 80 countries. No other country does that. Accept your greatness with some humility.
Huh? Every president does the same darn thing. By increasing their budget way beyond what was already vastly in excess of what they need, Trump has made things worse.
The military admits to wasting at least $150 billion every year and Trump's solution for that is to increase their budget by another $200-500 billion.
@Rajk999 saidDummy, you pay for it. This war is not popular with Americans and we pay for the bombs.

If you support this war, you pay for it.
@wildgrass saidYour tax money is not yours. It is up to the government to decide what is best for the country. Not you. Given the option people like you will give out money to lazy bums and look after your own selfish needs. Countries do not operate that way. You have no clue [like most socialists], what it takes to run a successful country like the US.

@Rajk999 saidLol. Funny. Water is wet, mate.

We hear it all the time for everything else. "How are we going to pay for this?" Why don't we do that for this?
Pay for it. Republicans must raise taxes to pay for this, and convince us that it's worth the cost. I hear we're using $10 million missiles to shoot down drones that cost Iran $30k. Ukraine has been fighting the same thing for years using much cheaper weapons but I guess our generals just get a blank check.
@lstcyr saidOf course it is not, that has been the phrase that has been tossed around regarding the reporting thereof. Sorry I didn’t say it exactly right, and go into the whys and wherefores. I do like saying that Trump kicked China out of there, and again, sometimes there’s nothing to discuss. You fellas need to look more ahead
That’s not the same as getting the canal back.
Anyway, This is why I am right only 96% of the time
@wildgrass saidThe government always sucks and keeping its prices low, simply because nobody negotiating on behalf of the government *really* cares that much about keeping prices down. Why should they? It's not their money.

But paying huge amounts of money to Lockheed Martin is also giving money to Americans, not much different than welfare spending. At least the Lockheed Martin employees are working for it.
As for the Iranian drones being so cheap, well yeah, when your goal is to cause random death and destruction, the equipment you need is much cheaper than when you're using precision-guided instruments to take out specific targets or intercept missiles launched at your bases. I could make a Molotov cocktail for 20 bucks. That doesn't mean it can be comparable to the Abrams tank's M1E3 cannon.
In general, if a war is necessary, the costs to run it are negligible compared to the political benefits. World War II cost a lot too, but all it did was gain the US World hegemony for a century and cause an economic boom that benefitted the country for decades. If the politicians were responsible, they could pay for a 100 billion dollar war with a barely noticeable tax increase (100 billion dollars is an average of ~ $300 a person). The politicians are not responsible, but that's not the fault of a war here and there.
The real costs of war are alliances, moral standing, and political capital. That's a totally different analysis. But analyzing a war based on the monetary costs is a cop out. Either the war is justified and necessary, and thus a bargain at 10 times the price, or it's not, and it's a terrible idea even if it were free.
@wildgrass saidI heard the US has a problem with welfare, and about 50% of it is fraudulent. Welfare costs the taxpayer about $1.5 Trillion. So there you go. Just reduce the corruption in welfare and you get more than enough to finance the war.
Lol. Funny. Water is wet, mate.

As for relying on budget weapons and military equipment made by foreign firms, only a total fool will suggest such a ridiculous idea.
