1) The meat industry is sickening. Small cages, rampant disease and injury, meat full of antibiotics and other mysterious chemicals, genetic manipulation, neglect, and abusive deaths.

2) People who eat meat are 50% more likely to develop heart disease, higher cholesterol levels, higher cases of hypertension, higher levels of prostate and other cancers, higher rates for type 2 diabetes.

3) Did I mention obesity? People who eat meat are typically fatter. Yuck.

4) Vegetarians typically have better immune systems

5) Vegetarians and vegans on average live 6 to 10 times longer than meat eaters.

6) Raising animals for slaughter is horrible for the environment. I'll list examples once I laugh at the hate I'll end up reading 🙂

"6 to 10 times longer"? I can only hope not. Surely this is a misstatement.

But watching a mouse die a painful death caused by yourself is fun, eh?

* Mice droppings sometimes are confused with droppings from the larger species of roaches, such as the American roach.
* Mice droppings are smooth with pointed ends, and are 1/8th to 1/4 inch long.
* In six months, one pair of mice can eat about 4 pounds of food and during that period produce some 18,000 fecal droppings.
* Deer mice are a primary vector of Hantaviral infections which cause hemorrhagic fevers.
* Mice may infect food with their droppings transmitting such organisms as salmonella and the microscopic eggs of tapeworms.
* Mice transmit disease in a number of ways including biting, infecting human food with their droppings or urine, indirectly via the dog or cat and bloodsucking insects.

Therefore I'm glad to have dispatched a few here and there, you betcha! They do NOT belong in my house. Would I take joy killing some random mouse I happened upon outside? No. I would leave it alone. Just like I leave chickens and all other animals alone.

That said, I'm sure you've eaten hundreds of cheeseburgers and chicken salads over the years. Your death toll is much, much, much higher than mine. I can literally count on one hand how many times I've eaten meat in my life. You don't have 600 hands.

I'm a mmember of PETA and since I'm in my middle 50's ...explain exactly how you'll live to be in the 350-550year range.

no wonder why I always get a good guffaw after reading one of your posts.

Let's see how that figures.....If I eat meat, I will die at age ten, and the vegetarian will live to be 100. Tell that to my uncle...a farmer... who lived on homegrown meat and lived to be 108. Compared to him, a vegan then would live to be 1080. Sounds logical to me...😵 All kidding aside, these inhumane practices are indeed sickening, and we would be healthier by eating less meat....my uncle notwithstanding.

I assume it was a typo and it was meant to say 6-10 YEARS longer.

I confess that I eat meat, but I'm not going to defend my choice. You're probably right that I'm committing an ethical violation. It's just been too inconvenient not to eat meat, and I'm a selfish animal and to date that's the choice I've made.

I'd rather admit that than rationalize it out of cognitive dissonance.

Right now, I'm not going to worry about things like eating meat and polluting the environment when I drive my car, or giving money to big corporations that have made too much profit when I buy their software legally rather than copying it for free. The game just got bigger than that and my best guess is that the military-industrial complex will be exposed soon. This is gonna be cataclysmic, folks.

You really are one of the more unlikeable people here. Congratulations. It takes work to make the Idiot List. You managed to climb the ladder rather quickly.

I am a ichthyo-vegetarian (i.e., I eat fish). I support rights for animals.

Your post is categorically idiotic. Any similarity our outward behaviors share are motivated by
totally different reasons. And, the way in which you approach supporting a vegetarian diet merely
results in promulgating the notion that vegetarianism is like a religion in which dogmas that have
no bearing on real science dictate the courses of action which 'believers' take.

Behavior as yours just teaches people who might otherwise be ambivalent about the issue that
vegetarians are crazy and that which the say ought to be ignored.
