I'm not claiming humans are more or less valuable than any other living thing, I was stating that if something has the potential to make you ill, or kill you, you should take preventive measures to avoid it.
Since you cannot physically avoid bacteria and viruses, you have to kill them with medications and chemicals, to prevent them from harming you.
W ...[text shortened]... g a cow from harming me, by avoiding cows altogether.
Is this seriously not making sense?

Even the church used to say so, back when they had enough power to say that only the supposed sexual aspect of the sin was bad when a woman had an abortion.
What makes bacteria less valuable than humans and why doesn't this apply to humans vs. other animals like cows?
I would prefer it if abortion was safe, legal and rare. I'm not saying a pre-sentient human fetus has *no* value, but it has FAR less value than a human person does. The greatest value that a pre-sentient human fetus has is its instrumental value to the mother, thus it should be the woman's decision. (It gets more complicated in the 3rd trimester, once the fetus can feel pain and stuff.)

I have often wondered why some people value animals more than they do human life. For example, the same society that threw the book at Michael Vick for dog fighting is the same society that allows pedophiles to roam free after molesting minors. I think perhaps it is because animals tend to how us love unconditionally as where human beings do not usually. 1) The meat industry is sickening. Small cages, rampant disease and injury, meat full of antibiotics and other mysterious chemicals, genetic manipulation, neglect, and abusive deaths.
2) People who eat meat are 50% more likely to develop heart disease, higher cholesterol levels, higher cases of hypertension, higher levels of prostate and other cancers, hi ...[text shortened]... rrible for the environment. I'll list examples once I laugh at the hate I'll end up reading 🙂
