God... where to start?

1. Nobody wants to live forever.

2. Vegetarians and vegans are whining, malnurished, pathetic, irritating, finger-wagging bastards. Nobody likes them.

3. The best way to solve everyone's problems is to eat vegetarians. That way the cows get to live, vegetarians can't complain and we don't have to listen to their insistant moaning about things which really aren't half as important as the price of petrol.

* Deer mice are a prim ally count on one hand how many times I've eaten meat in my life. You don't have 600 hands.
I can see why it may be necessary in severe cases to kill mice to avoid the spread of diseases. But it's one thing to regrettingly kill an animal because you can't see a better way to handle the problem, and quite another to enjoy watching while the animal is dying a painful death. I don't like dogs; I am afraid of them, and I hate all the dog droppings in the streets. Dog bites are a common injury, and every year several children get killed by dogs. Dogs can spread diseases, too. Nevertheless, I wouldn't enjoy watching a dog die or being tortured, and I don't see them as some kind of evil vermin. I don't understand how the suffering of another being can make you happy.

As for your outlandish assumptions: I have never eaten a cheeseburger in my whole life, although I have eaten almost a whole hamburger once when I was a child. I can't remember eating a chicken salad either, although I may have done so at some buffet or so. I did eat meat as a child, but I haven't done so for many many years.

Well done!

You not only have identified the problem but have also proposed a viable solution.

I'd say vegetarism is the more moral choice, although most vegetarians I know are ignorant as to why, but eating meat is the tasty choice. You only live once, and you're going to get other species killed one way or the other.

Bulls**t.

What do you want me to eat? salad everyday?
I don't think so.

Meat is great, instead of preaching your vegetarianism you should be campaigning for changes in the food industry if you really care about the animals, or are you just using it as an excuse to force everyone to eat vegetables?

I agree with you on that.

I think it's funny that vegetarians are thought of as lefty, tree hugging, loonies/liberals, while choosing the more "moral" approach to eating.

Another case proving morals and religion are not codependents.

#1 assumes that you do not buy your meat from someone that raises the animals humanely.

#6 assumes the animals are raised in an unsustainable way.

This is why we buy most of our meat at the farmer's market from reputable farmers.

I don't think vegetarians eat salad everyday. There are tons of meatless entrees that warm you up and fill your belly as deliciously and satisfactorily as meat. You probably just haven't tried them.

I agree with you in your regard that preaching vegetarianism by ridiculing people for their amoral choice to slaughter animals isn't the most effective way to prove the benefits of vegetarianism, and that we should be urging the government to force stricter control of animal factories.

You know, many state governments place extremely high taxes on liquor and cigarettes, in Michigan they are called "sin taxes".
Liquor and smokes are not required to survive, and they can have negative health consequences on those surrounding their users.
This is how I feel about meat factories. I think we should urge higher (insanely high) taxes on meat products, since they are not only unhealthy and optional vices, but can pose bad health effects on nonmeaters.
