@AverageJoe1 saidHow long do you expect it to take to reopen the strait? And how long do you think the world economy will be able to avoid a worldwide depression?
Pain At The Pump!
No pain? Then, no gain. You are an impatient lot.
@kmax87 saidEasy, man. No question that monied people will have a better time getting through all of this over the next month or so than the less fortunate. The country has always been full of less-monied people who have had to pay for a less quality goods than the Rich pay for. There’s no difference in these two concepts Lesser folks might have to buy a hotdog for dinner. The wealthy folks can buy a steak for dinner. I guess since you are writing this stupid post, you can tell us why you don’t complain about that. The unfortunate family buys hot dogs, the rich family eats steak. I challenge you to argue that concept if you were gonna argue the concept of your Post here..
Easy to say when you're rolling in billions
@Metal-Brain saidI don’t have the military mind that all of you do, so it is pretty much guest work. I have a lot of faith in Trump, and figure he should have it wrapped up within six weeks. You will be glad to know that operation Epic Fury is over. He is now just into wrapping up lesser things that will take a few more weeks. I am not driving much until the price plummets and then I will fill up my car.

So 6 wks or less. My granny’s Bridge partner says that the Strait of Hormuz will never be open. I think a lot of you fellas here think that as well. That is a damn shame. You are missing another Trump train.

"Adding to his remarks, Trump alleged that his "decision" to pause the project was based in part on "the fact that Great Progress has been made toward a Complete and Final Agreement" with Iran.
The Islamic Republic, however, has categorically refused to rejoin talks with the United States as long as the blockade stays in place."

There is no progress. This war will probably last years. Your faith in Trump's lies is funny. Remember when he said it would last 4 or 5 weeks? Trump is not serious about a deal. We have all heard this before only for Trump to sabotage the very proposal he said he could work with.
@Metal-Brain saidYou silly goose. You actually sit there and say the reason that Trump gives is his real reason.

Do you think he ever gave up 1 inch in negotiations in his business when he was working on a deal? No one in the world but he knew what was really going on.
You probably subscribe to this theory of Suzanne that says he should tell us everything he is thinking and why he does things. I can assure you it is exactly the opposite. Because when he says something it is not us that he is saying it too, it is what he wants our enemies to hear. Jesus.
@AverageJoe1 saidHow about don't go invading countries in the first place?
You small minded thinkers will say that Trump is causing world problems. I would say that Iran is causing world problems. Also, we are not the babysitters for the world. We are handling a problem that needed to be handled. If you want us to make everybody happy like a bunch of children, we would just quit the Iran thingy. So why don’t you tell us what you really think? ...[text shortened]... do is complain what is happening, but offer no solutions.
Leave Iran and Hormuz? Just say it.
Trump is a moron. Coming out saying that he didn't expect Iran to attack other countries around them... What were they going to do? Just surrender their entire nation after a few bombs went off? Please. They're not France. But also their response shows how weak Iran is, they don't have any capabilities of doing any real long range damage. Just like Iraq before them.
Trump went into Iran with the purpose of driving oil prices up. Nothing else.
@AverageJoe1 saidPlease, just remind me; are we talking about the same Trump that said he would

end the Ukraine war on day one and who also said the US would stay away from
future conflicts and look after itself????????
@AverageJoe1 saidYou really don't have the slightest clue what "negotiations" mean.

A clue; it does not mean giving the other side maximalist demands and holding your breath until you turn blue and they accept them.

Can you relate our 'invading' Iran to what they have been doing to us for 47 years?
You little guys are a product of the Obama Biden regimes that are weak. "I am drawing a red line' said Obama. They laughed at him, that is end of that weakling. Then Biden..."DON'T". But, they DID. !!!
Setting aside your hatred for a moment, doesn't it make you proud to have a leader who means what he says, and while doing it, lambasts the last 5 presidents who did not move on Iran???
@Martin saidYes same guy. Find a leader with a big job to explain it to you. I won't do it again. Obama said my granny could keep her doctor, his advisor who created Ocare testfied that Obama had been told to lie, and he did.
Please, just remind me; are we talking about the same Trump that said he would

Hmmm, i think that was the only lie of all the last 5 presidents. 😆
Are you giong to remain so childish with posts. Actually worse than naive.
@AverageJoe1 saidThat only makes sense to you as an American because that's what your system has devolved into. Post ww2 America was a great place to be in (at least if you were white) and the greatest uplift of people into the middle class happened.

How? High taxes and using that money to build infrastructure and housing and giving them educational opportunities.....
And by the time Nixon and then Ronnie rolled around and African Americans increasingly also wanted a piece of that pie, America started cutting its social programs by lowering taxes. Those that already had their feet on the bus could ride the wave of economic deregulation, but with time and with increasing economic deregulation (read economic terrorism) even those that got ahead in the 50s and 60s were losing ground and their kids are now living in a world where we have Corporations with lower tax rates than they do.
Now I know it makes perfect sense to billionaires like you, but don't for a minute believe that people are not noticing in your country and those who live outside your nation are definitely not drinking your kool-aid.........'kay!!

Yes, the U.S. had high top marginal tax rates after World War II, but almost nobody actually paid those headline rates because of deductions and loopholes. What really drove growth in the 1950s and 60s was a unique mix: the U.S. was the only major industrial power left standing, global competition was weak, and our pent-up demand fueled expansion. That’s not something you can recreate just by “taxing the rich.” That is NOT how it was done. Our Individual work did it. Get real.
Things weren’t funded only by soaking the wealthy…they were part of a broader postwar strategy that included private sector growth, strong productivity gains, and a booming middle class workforce. High taxes didn’t create that engine; they rode alongside it. Get real. We did not lay back like sorry parasitic socialists and just let billionaire money pay for everything. Get real.
Third, blaming tax cuts since Richard Nixon or Ronald Reagan for today’s inequality skips over other major factors: globalization, automation, and the decline of manufacturing jobs. Those forces hit middle-class wages far more than marginal tax rates ever did. I have taught this stuff for god sake. Geez. You cannot be this flippant about the greatness of this country.
and regarding corporate taxes, statutory rates, effective rates, etc are more complicated than your slogan suggests. Who actually bears the burden of corporate taxes? Workers,, consumers, shareholders. When tariffs were imposed, didn’t you and Sunhouse raise hell that they would cause the cost of goods to go up. Which would mean the consumer effectively pays??
.? My my what conflict
And so emotional . You libs are known for that. What if Trump was an emotional wreck like you are, we would not be able to kick Iran Butt……. and thrive.

You acknowledge high marginal taxes were part of a successful mix and then gloss over their disappearance. Did putting more discretionary cash in people's hands by lowering taxes make for a better life for more Americans?? Or is America becoming one of the most inequitable societies around?
