@kmax87 saidTough guy about to pull it off. You neophytes gotta find something else to whine about. Oh while I I have you, could you get Suzanne to answer that question so I will not have to ask it of you. Does one person have a right to the labor of others? …. That is the question.
And now you go spoil your post whining about what an alleged tough guy Trump is?? Mr TACO de NACHO?
You acknowledge high marginal taxes were part of a successful mix and then gloss over their disappearance. Did putting more discretionary cash in people's hands by lowering taxes make for a better life for more Americans?? Or is America becoming one of the most inequitable societies around?
As you this topic, You’re mostly repeating my argument but adding rhetoric on top of it.!!!!!
Postwar growth after World War II came from a unique set of conditions—limited global competition, massive demand, and strong productivity. Taxes were part of the backdrop, NOT the primary driver. That’s the point you haven’t really addressed. The lib dodge. Pitiful.
On corporate taxes, you’re actually reinforcing what I said: the burden doesn’t sit in a vacuum. Economists broadly agree it gets distributed—through wages, prices, and returns to shareholders. ‘Rich guy’ ain’t got nothing to do with it.
As for tariffs—yes, consumers often pay more when tariffs are imposed. That’s not a contradiction; it’s the same principle. Costs imposed on businesses tend to get passed along. That’s exactly why why simplistic “just make ‘X’ pay” arguments, whether it’s corporations, the rich, or foreign producers, don’t play out as neatly as they sound.
Hey , you want something? Then get your wallet out and pay for it. That’s what the rich guys do. I just don’t see the problem. What is your problem anyway? Did you buy NVDIA when I suggested it at $164? It is $208 today. So, are you entitled to my profits? Are you entitled to the labor of others.? Isn’t Australia freely economically, I don’t know what you are bitching about.

Why mention Kool-Aid like Suzanne and ruin a nice post? You are all so childish. However I will answer your post.
Yes, the U.S. had high top marginal tax rates after World War II, but almost nobody actually paid those headline rates because of deductions and loopholes. What really drove growth in the 1950s and 60s was a unique mix: the U.S. was the only major industria ...[text shortened]... if Trump was an emotional wreck like you are, we would not be able to kick Iran Butt……. and thrive.
and regarding corporate taxes, statutory rates, effective rates, etc are more complicated than your slogan suggests. Who actually bears the burden of corporate taxes? Workers,, consumers, shareholders. When tariffs were imposed, didn’t you and Sunhouse raise hell that they would cause the cost of goods to go up. Which would mean the consumer effectively pays??
.? My my what conflict
Corporate taxes... maybe.
But individual taxes? We have a system currently where the average Joe pays an effective rate of 14.5% of their income, but Warren Buffet pays 0.1% .
I think Warren Buffett should at least pay the average, maybe more. I don't know how you can argue that he would pass that cost on to consumers in the same way that tariff surcharges were added to Amazon purchases?

7 dollar gas. Well, I guess I'll buy an electric car. Oh those are 60 thousand dollars? Well at least electricity is cheap. Oh. Well at least the billionaires got a tax break.
You know a deal is coming ....right? (Sue says right s lot). Even China is asking for a seat at the table iin final negotiations. So why the gas price talk, as oil is down 7% today, and the market about to soar, it is at 700 rigbt now. You think Iran will last forever?
I think I will call my broiker and 'short' Wildgrass!

What if Trump had said he would not ever sit at a table with Xi again.? He would’ve said it to jockey for position, don’t you see. That is the world of negotiation, which you know dung about. So we are now coming to an Iran agreement and Xi wants to sit at the negotiating table. Fancy that, begging on with Trump. Trump would likely let him sit there, after having lied that he would not in this hypothetical. Do you still not get it?…. Do you follow, marauder. Things change hourly in the running of a country like the United States of effing America.. You have a president that is not set in his ways, and flows like a river covering everything. Damn genius. This will qualify BTW as ending his 9th(?) war? Yeaaahh.
Seriously, it will be interesting to see the tack that all of you dependents take when this Iran deal goes through, oil goes down and gas goes down. What’s not to like? I’m sure you’ll find something not to like, because you are eat up with TDS. Bedfellow with Sunhouse.
@AverageJoe1 saidTrump already said there's no Iran deal.

The reason is that these negotiations are too hard for him. He was kicked out of his own situation room. He cannot appreciate that these things take time and require trust and respect. Yes, I realize that perhaps the Iranian government may not deserve trust or respect, but if that is the case, then again, no deal.
Just a waste of money and breath and we're all paying $4.50-7 for gas now. The WSJ says they're never coming down again.

@no1marauder saidCome to think of it, to the rabid Iranians it will appear like an unconditional surrender because they will have nothing. Except Dusty streets and bombed out hell.

Hey, I haven’t dug this deeply, but will we now own* Strait of Hormuz???
* A metaphor, you have had trouble with metaphors in the past.
@wildgrass saidIf I follow, you are saying gas price will not come down? But you have often said that gas prices are up because of Trump actins in Iran. Am I right so far?

So when this matter is resolved in the next few weeks, it would follow, with your tremendous logic, learned logic, that when the cost of oil drops from $105 down to $85 and lower, while Trump runs Hormuz or whatever, that......follow me here,....that gas prices would go down, since you said the prices were up solely because of Trump actions.
You wanna close your post above? You say nothing.

And you watn the dems ti bring relativde savages from the 3rd world into our country, and have them vote. Dems would own america from then on, as they give free stuff to you and all the millions and millions of dependents. They will always vote for your stuff, the free stuff.
Your govt systems have never worked. Are you a total dependent, you have to be. My goal is to ....make money. It is NOT the goal of your syncophants (a new word that Sonhouse turned up with 😆 )
You never tell us what you want. Do you want us in the end to look like the 3rd world countries. Seems like it. You would have reparations!!!
If you want the 3rd world, why dont you come out and SAY it. There are no restrictions on American dreams, no one is stopping anybody..And yet you still want to bring it all down. You can't bring the bottom up, so you bring the top down.....to, like 3rd world countries.
@wildgrass saidYou are weak, you will not answer my query. Why? Why wont you? Maybe it is time for a bit of your sarcasm.

@AverageJoe1 saidI don't share the ignorant racist views your childish babbling reveals I do know that every instance of mass immigration into the country was economically beneficial and that would be even more truer now with the US experiencing both chronic labor shortages and a low birth rate. Trump's white nationalist policies are leading to an actual decline in our population, something that history has shown to be a feature of a nation in the throes of collapse.

@AverageJoe1 saidWhat you do not see is how this question can be asked by labor as well. Do corporations/businesses have the right to the labor of others to make their products at an absolute bare minimum, rock bottom wage? The dodge always seems to be, ' well if they don't like it they can take their labor elsewhere' ..But when the whole labor market is ruled by a consensus of business owners across the board who put a very low value on a broad range of jobs, they can and do hold workers hostage to their profit making motives and then workers find themselves in the same position and are able to ask the very same sort of question.
Does one person have a right to the labor of others? …. That is the question.
Does one person have the right to exploit the labor of others?
