@dendron saidExactly. I think his wife should be scolded for putting him through this. The debates will be watched in th same vein as watching Daytona 500, where you sort want to see a wreck!!!
Blatant, indeed. He is only doing what he is told to do and say. For black votes, obviously, in case you libs are missing it. Even his voice today was weak and old. And tired, you are wrong to try getting him into office.
@dendron saidI am a Trump supporter.

Do not call me a liberal ever again.

@mott-the-hoople saidBiden's point was correct even if his statement isn't accurate; how many people have heard of Lewis Latimer? I have to admit I had never done so until today. But absent Latimer's improvement to Edison's design, the light bulb would have remained a curio item, not the powerful tool it became:
this guy is nuts...

"Maxim greatly desired to improve on Edison’s light bulb and focused on the main weakness of Edison’s bulb – their short life span (generally only a few days.) Latimer set out to make a longer lasting bulb.
Latimer devised a way of encasing the filament within an cardboard envelope which prevented the carbon from breaking and thereby provided a much longer life to the bulb and hence made the bulbs less expensive and more efficient. This enabled electric lighting to be installed within homes and throughout streets."
Latimer’s abilities in electric lighting became well known and soon he was sought after to continue to improve on incandescent lighting as well as arc lighting. Eventually, as more major cities began wiring their streets for electric lighting, Latimer was dispatched to lead the planning team. He helped to install the first electric plants in Philadelphia, New York City and Montreal and oversaw the installation of lighting in railroad stations, government building and major thoroughfares in Canada, New England and London.

And that was only one of his accomplishments:
"Latimer continued to display his creative talents over then next several years. In 1894 he created a safety elevator, a vast improvement on existing elevators. He next received a patent for Locking Racks for Hats, Coats, and Umbrellas. The device was used in restaurants, hotels and office buildings, holding items securely and allowing owners of items to keep the from getting misplaced or accidentally taken by others. He next created a improved version of a Book Supporter, used to keep books neatly arranged on shelves.
Latimer next devised a method of making rooms more sanitary and climate controlled. He termed his device an Apparatus for Cooling and Disinfecting. The device worked wonders in hospitals, preventing dust and particles from circulating within patient rooms and public areas."
Biden is right; schools should teach what individuals of color like Latimer did and currently many do not.
Thanks Mott.
Edison invented the lightbulb and Latimer improved on it.
Edison, a white man, invented the lightbulb and Latimer, a black man, improved on it.
Leave colour out of it or people of all races and colours will expect the same treatment.
Magnus Carlsen, a white man, is the world chess champion.
No chess champion was ever black.
See how ridiculous it can get?
Teaching kids what "people of colour did" gives people the impression they are inferior because they are of colour.

It that the same as a lie?
Your providing the accomplishments of this person as amazing because he is black is one of the most racist things I have seen.
And what hiden is doing is pandering.
@mott-the-hoople saidNo, only if Biden knew his statement was false.

It's hardly "racist" to recognize that Latimer has been ignored in our schools and that his achievements are remarkable and even more so because of the pervasive racism and legal discrimination of the time.
Your idea as to what is "racist" us laughable given your many statements here claiming outright that blacks are inferior to whites.
@no1marauder saiddo you think text books teach about every major accomplishment of white people?
No, only if Biden knew his statement was false.

so hiden is either ignorant or lying?

@no1marauder saidThinking you can end racism when it has existed since the beginning of man is futile.
Sticking your head in the sand and pretending racism doesn't exist won't end it.
Liberals and their anti racism crusade is causing more racism.
You are your own worst enemy.
