As long as the old lady doesn't flop the dugs out too casually, and covers up with a towel, I have no objection.

I was watching a morning news program in the US today, and they had a story regarding how most women don't breastfeed as long as they would like to on account of work, or that there's a big social stigma about breastfeeding in public. So I wanted to gather opinions here.

Do you object to or approve of breastfeeding in public? Why do you feel the way you do? (Even as I write these words, I know where this is headed.)
I eat in public, why shouldn't babies?

In german, women get naked for no reason so i dont see why there is such a stigma about women breastfeeding in public... now changing a babys nappy in public personally i find very annoying especially if your about to eat. (thats what i thought baby changing facilities were for)

if she's hot it should be encouraged, if she fell off the ugly tree it should be against the law.

I don't mind them doing it so long as they don't glare at me if I happen to glance anywhere near them.
Unfortunately, they nearly always do.

Babies can be tough on the timid.

trickier thatn it should be. I'm totally of the opinion that breastfeeding in public should be allowed beacuse it's what breasts are designed for. Then again:
1) urinating in public isn't allowed, and that's just as natural
2) breasts are have a sexual function. In primates, an inflated breats indictes a female in heat so attracts males. In humans the breasts don't fluctuate in 'inflation' (without surgery 😉) meaning that males are attracted to them all the time. I've even known some women like having them touched a bit before we get down to the sex...

So there are clearly some 'natural' actions that we object to witnessing, and breasts are clearly sexual objects too. I can therefore understand feeling awkwardin getting your tits out in front of your co-workers. I was a little uneasy first time my sister breast fed in front of me (although now I'm used to the idea I don't even notice). Because breast are usually hidden away it increases the mystisism of seeing them, so getting them out in public will upset some.

Answer - I don't know. More general nudity, as in Germany and Switzerland, so that we lose the shock & mystesism? Maybe, but remember you get far more old wrinklies than young hotties in that sauna...

look, the fact is you can pump the milk into a bottle and feed the baby that way so as to not expose the rest of us to the blue vain riddled sagger otherwise being exposed.

In France, women can breastfeed in public places, it's not an issue.

In the UK, people are really sensitive about this issue, even though breasts are splattered all over the tabloids which people read at breakfast time. I don't understand what the fuss is about.🙄

why should someone have to go to that hassle, carrying all that gear and increasing the chance of the milk getting infected, just becasue you object to seeing a body part designed for that very purpose? I find gross bellies and bum cracks on men more offensive to look at, and there's no need to let these out.

why should i go to the hassle of going to the bathroom, why not just un-zip and go wherever i'm standing?

Public Breastfeeding: Yea Or Nay?

If it is done respectfully, using a towel or such to cover the breast and baby, there should be no problem.

In the UK women can too.

But occasionally a shop owner or fellow diner in a cafe will object.

I like belgianfreak's point about urinating being natural too.
However, common sense (remember that?) tells us the difference.
